I have never received a speeding ticket I didn't deserve...
Im not saying I wasn't speeding but why would i just pay a fine if there's a better way to approach the situation

it's called taking responsibility for your actions..

"better way to approach the situation?"

what does that even mean? it means you are looking for a way out of taking responsibility for your actions..

you were driving nearly twice the posted limit.. zero excuse for it, you endangered the lives of everyone around you, and now you want to weasel out of it.

if I were the LEO I would have impounded your car and made you walk to too a bus stop..

10 over no biggie.. twice the posted limit =

We all make dumb mistakes. I got a DWI when I was younger and dumber, you just have to take your licks and treat it as a lesson learned. That's the important thing though, that you learn from it and never repeat the same mistake.

I'm sure 500 bucks is a lot to you (you seem young) but you're lucky you didn't get hit with a reckless driving charge, seeing as how you were going double the posted limit.

Yeah 500 is a lot. I could of spend it on something else but it is what it is. He told me he give people 20 to 30 over because its posted 45 but he even says he doesn't believe in it. But with the leeway thats 65 to 75. So my response was just downgrade it to 14 over (the difference between my 89 and his leeway) and his response was slow it down and walked away.

Its either defensive driving or deferred adjudication if you want it removed from your record.

Cops will usually bend the speeding laws in the driver's favor, but if you do twice the posted limit you've pretty much tied his hands. The officer could probably get away with letting a person go 20 over in normal driving conditions, but if his patrol captain learns he let someone off scot-free after being stopped for twice the limit, then the officer could find himself in some trouble.

You really didn't have any room to ask for a 14 over downgrade considering the situation. Honestly, you're fortunate it didn't piss off the officer to the point where he was harder on you. Nothing frustrates a cop more than when he's lenient to someone and they don't appreciate it. I'm not saying you weren't appreciative, but asking for a further reduction could certainly have made it seem that way.

Some rough comments on here, but we all make mistakes.. myself +1

89 in a 45 though.. that's a little much. Get a lawyer, he will take care of it from there and it will just cost you some extra $$$.

It's a 2012 and your heater core has already broken twice? That's concerning.

I used to live in Georgia. In Georgia you would of been hit by a super speeder ticket which is $200.00 above and beyond your speeding ticket. You might of been locked up and your car impounded also.

If i were you i'd hire a lawyer that specializes in traffic laws and citations. If anything they should be able to get the speed reduced to 10-15 over the limit which is much better for your driving record than 44 over the limit. Your insurance company will have a field day with 44 over the limit. They can even drop you altogether.
