Again I owned both of the last generation consoles and I will probably own both again.
Again, everyone should go with the console that either provides the exclusives they want to play or its the console their friends pick up. I spend at least 8 hours a week listening to gaming oriented podcasts from IGN, Giantbomb, and joystiq. I spend countless more hours reading the news on their websites + kotaku, and polygon. I gave an objective opinion based on the information available to me. I made my decision on June 11th and don't regret it one bit and wished to share why that was my decision

Naahhhh I don't hate Wii U, It has its niche crowd I'm just not part of it. I'm not part of the PS4 crowd either but I'm not running around saying the system is "garbage".... Heck I bet it's pretty darn amazing but I will reserve judgement until I play it MYSELF.
So far I love everything about my Xbox one..... (except for the occasional tv picture issue) Kinect is incredibly accurate.... Voice recognition is darn good... swapping from game to TV in a instant and back again is priceless during football games Graphics are amazing (I'm sure they are on PS4 as well)... Facial recognition is spot on... I truly have no complaints so it baffles me when someone says the system is "garbage".Funny how some of the supposed "true gamers" are so one sided. I can't wait to play the PS4... I really hope I like the "feel" of its games so I can buy it as well! |

LMAO I am sooooo sorry, totally forgot I had made this thread cause i got absorbed with the systems, I promise you have my full attention now.
To be honest with you I really love both systems. You can tell the PS4 graphics are a BIT better but you have to REALLY be looking. Otherwise they do look the exact same. The UI on the X1 is far better than the PS4, The PS4 is almost to simple for my tastes. Kinect in my opinion is a godsend and not so much for the gaming aspect but its overall contribution. I just recently had a kid and I couldn't begin to tell you how convenient it is to say what i want to do instead of trying to use the controller while holding my kid. Navigating is a breeze. It really is possible to connect your PS4 to your Xbox One and although it is a great idea it really does impair some functions. If you are wanting to plug in your PS4 to your xbox one it uses the TV command. So Xbox go to TV is actually for your PS4, Also there is a lag between your input on your ps4 controller and what is displayed on screen. Not so bad on some games like AC4 and such, but shooters like BF4 and Killzone make it frustrating. I ended up just plugging it into another input. As far as accuracy goes with the kinect i would say it is about 85-90% accurate, there are times where i have to repeat myself but not too often. Specially after finding out how to set it up properly. I never have to shout at it, only use a normal speaking voice. The PS4 controller is alot better than i imagined, if i had one complaint it would be the battery life. It gets drained SOOO quickly and from what I have read it is because of the light sensor. Although there is talks of a patch that will allow you to turn it off so it doesnt drain so much of the battery. X1 controller for me is far better for FPS games. It feels right. It took me a bit to get used to the dpad placement but it wasnt a hard transition. As far as the battery life on the X1 controller it is fantastic, I never actually tested it but If i had to give an estimate it lasted about 5-6 days of playing the crap out of it every day. One of the biggest problems I have had with the X1 is party chat, and it's new Smart matching. B/c of the smart matching I can no longer manually invite someone to a game that I am playing. Just to give you a scenario of how it is done; I invite a friend I am wishing to play BF4 with to party chat which sometimes is a problem in itself.(Ill explain after) After everything is situated I would find a server to play in on my own. As soon as a spot is available my friend would automatically get an invite through smart match. Problem I have had with this is sometimes I have gotten spammed with invites but i later found it was due to a setting on the x1. Now about the party chat problem. When invited to a party chat once you accept you cant automatically begin to talk to whoever is in the chat. You actually have to Select the option after to turn on party chat even though you accepted the invite. Unfortunately it doesnt always work and comes back with a messages saying that it couldnt turn it on. Which in turn means you cant talk to the person that invited you.....really sucks Last edited by FaytalsCamaro; 12-09-2013 at 01:28 PM. |

As far as the ps4 goes I havent really had any big problems with it aside from the controller battery life. Although as far as the x1 goes all of those problems can be fixed with patches.
To be honest I play the X1 more than the PS4 right now, but that is because of how many friends i have that play it. If that wasn't a factor Im sure i would be playing both the same. amount. If I had to give advice on which to get I would have to say to look at what your friends are getting, if that isn't a issue than which one has the exclusives that interest you? Right now with all the announcements both seem to be getting some heavy hitters in the future. Off the top of my head X1: Quantum Break (Great looking game that combines Alan Wake story telling with Max Payne Cinematics TitanFall Turning out to be the most anticipated game of next gen Halo 5 One of the defining games for Xbox Project Spark A game for those with an imagination big enough to create their own game Sunset Overdrive Not too much can be said about this other than it reminds me alot of Team Fortress PS4 Infamous Second Son: If you havent played the previous games you have been missing out, defintitely looks to fill out that gaping hole where a super powered hero game belongs The Order: 1886 looks to be an awesome steampunkish shooter Uncharted 4 One of the series that makes the Playstation what it is, fantastic series Driveclub There to help you with that racing itch, its visuals seem to be nothing short of fantastic |
