1 Racing Seat?

Let's say your wife hates sport seats. She's comfortable enough in the sport seats of your Camaro, but you want the new Recaro seats. Would you install just 1 Recaro in your Camaro? Discuss.

1 is probably better than none, but having 2 different style front seats would probably really bother me

One negative would be using the car in a driving event with an instructor in which "equal equipment" is required for both front seat occupants. Usually refers to harnesses, but may include seats too?

There's no way you're married.

I currently don't have a Camaro, so I have plenty of time to acquire the part number and talk to some friends.

I've actually thought about this before. I think it might be a good solution for when my current driver's seat starts to show significant wear compared to the passenger seat. The price of the new Recaro's is the main reason why I don't want a passenger seat. Plus, I think 1 Recaro seat gives the car an "all-business", race car look. I know I might be alone on this opinion though...

I would talk to your insurance provider first. I was going to put Recaro Sportster CS in my Z06, but I was told by my insurance company they would have to drop me if I did. The seat is considered safety equipment and they can refuse to cover you at their discretion.

My wife didn't think she would like my Recaros, but she really likes them now. She just wishes they were height adjustable.

Is that still true if the seats are OEM? I have trouble believing that the seats from a 2014 model would void anyone's warranty.

If it's the factory Recaros, take her to a dealer and have her sit in them. My wife, and nearly everyone else, love the Recaros that came in the Boss. They seem to fit comfortably to a wide variety of people. Also, if it is the factory seat, then it should be no issue with the insurance as someone else mentioned because you would have the same safety equipment as your current seat.

Talk to your insurance. It might not matter since they are OEM, but they may ask that you have them installed by a, "professional" and have it documented because it is safety equipment. I talked to my insurance agent because I have an umbrella policy and didn't want to mess with coverage and she got very nervous when I even mentioned replacing the factory seats.
