Maintenance schedules and extended warranties

One more post for tonight...

I have an extended warranty that I bought for both my Camaro and my wife's H3 Hummer. I noticed tonight that the fine print says that I must keep up with the manufacturers maintenance schedule or the warranty will be voided. With the Camaro, that will never be a problem. It only has 6,000 miles on it, and I'll be maintaining it better than the schedule says, I'm sure. But the Hummer has 55,000 miles, and I haven't even looked at that schedule yet. We've been changing the oil every 3,000-5,000 miles, but that's about it.

So my question is, how serious is that maintenance schedule verses the warranty? If I spent $2,700 on a warranty that is void because I didn't replace the spark plugs at 55,000 miles, I'm going to be freaking PISSED.

Thanks for the advice, everybody.
