This has probably been mentioned I searched but what are your opinions on Gunbroker? I'm trying to buy a pistol but I'm TDY and on these orders cannot buy a pistol where I am.

So I was thinking of ordering off GunBroker and having it shipped to the city I live and during Thanksgiving or Christmas when I go back on leave picking it up then dropping it off with the family.

Thoughts?

Gun Broker is very thorough. They ask i think for you to pay by a gun service site instead of like paypal. The funds arent released until you actual pick the gun up as well.

I may not be 100% correct but I think I am.

However I would advise a real USGI example if anyone's in the market. These were only ever made during WWII. My own '43 Inland doesn't even really need to be lubricated much. You haven't considered it because you don't feel it's a viable HD rifle?

It's not the usual choice but if I had one, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable using it. Better than my AR15 with its magazine lock.

Ruger LC9 or Keltec P3AT. Most all .380s are going to be around the same weight. I can't think of a lighter 9mm than the Ruger, I think the Shield is heavier but its close.

I just added to my collection. SIG m400 enhanced and a RUGER LC9. Gonna have to get a bigger safe lol.

No, but I feel it's not optimum certainly. Several handguns and shotguns would come to mind before the M1 carbine. I wouldn't consider an AR15, either. I'd reach for my P226 before my M1 carbine or AR15. I can phone the police while holding my P226, or open a door, window, etc. While it's true I can physically hold up both my M1 carbine and my AR15 with one hand at arm's length, I don't think pulling the trigger in that situation would be a good idea.
