Liar Liar Pants on Fire, after a short pause to get his story together: "Yup, I know that was a BMW.. mine's a special BMW Mercedes, custom built for me. It's the only one ever made."
Me: "Oh... wow." Next time say "that's just like my 'BS Finger'. When he asks what that is, flip him the bird.

This is exactly why some people shouldn't be allowed to speak. It's fun playing with them at first, but I don't have the attention span for that.

Why are there still arguments like this with Google available?

Just send them to a link showing the engine stats, or bring it up on your phone??

Some people just aren't car people. I once worked with a firmware/software engineer that had a late '80's early '90's Buick. I was determined that I could convince him that his car was indeed FWD. I couldn't quite get him to buy into it until he had the following revelation, " Is that why I can't ever spin donuts in the snow in the parking lot?!?!?!?!

Its one thing to simply 'not be a car person', I don't expect the average person to know too much about cars. But when you know only a little bit, and then proceed to argue facts with someone more knowledgeable ...
