well i found 2 more 'possibilities' so to speak and both of these cars i can get good deals on in my area.
possibility 1: ![]() Cadillac Eldorado coupe with a 275-300 hp (depending on the trim level and or year) 4.6 DOHC 32v all aluminum V8 otherwise known as the NORTHSTAR (one of the BEST engines EVER to be put under the hood of a GM vehicle possibility 2: ![]() 99-04 Chrysler 300M sedan (i know its a sedan and not a coupe but its a damn NICE looking sedan ). powered by a very nice 260hp 3.5 V6 with the autostick transmission. I always liked the northstar powered caddys mainly the eldorado. and my dads friend's son has a very nice 2002 300M dark red with tan leather and all the 'toys' for sale in excellent cond for a good price. SO MANY DECISIONS

I suggest the monte carlo or the grand prix. I drive a 02 impala with that 3.8 liter engine called the 3800. It is a great engine. Very dependable and it packs a punch. On the highway it gets surprisingly good gas mileage. I average on the highway on trips 28mpg. But you might get better than that depending on the way you drive. I drive the speed limit, but i get to the speed limit as fast as possible. (Dont worry Tag

I'm biased but go with the Monte. We have both(02 MC, 04 GP). The 3800 engine is a very good engine with good gas mileage(wife gets 26.5 w/ the GP, I get 24 w/the Monte), and plenty of power.
For a 3400lb, fwd v-6, the Monte will do some incredible burnouts!! Thats probably why I only get 24mpg out of it.lol If you don't like the styling of the MC, get the Grand Prix, like you said they're twins. The Monte is one of those cars that you either LOVE the way it looks or you can't stand it.

Get the Colbolt SS Good on Gas, Cheap and it's Front Wheel Drive for those snow filled fun days.

Oh man, I remember my freshman year in Rochester. It snowed for like 32 days straight...and that damn school still never closed!!!
Back on topic...I'd go with the Grand Prix, but do take into account mileage and overall condition. You want to put as little money into this "investment" as possible. |

If you can wait a little bit...get a used '08 Cobalt LS. You could get a used 2007 and down Cobalt, too...but the '08s come standard with side-curtain airbags....
Anyways, I'd still say (if you only want something from your choices), go with a GP, or a Monte Carlo. |

well guys i bought my car, a 2004 Monte Carlo LS coupe
![]() engine: 3.4 OHV V6 180 hp tranny: 4 speed automatic wheels: 16x8" alloys options: power windows, doors, locks, AC, am/fm cd, cruise control, keyless entry with alarm (factory), 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS. the car is white (duh) with gray cloth interior. the only thing the car needs is one of the bulbs in the gauge cluster on the right side is burned out so you cannot see all of the tach at night (no big deal). I am toying with swaping out the the LS gauge cluster with a full gage cluster from a SS (swaps right out). and the factory speakers are kind of tinny i have a set of nice 6.5" and 6x9 Pioneer speakers that came from my last car. I am keeping the factory stereo as the alarm system and the warning chimes are tied into the unit. there is an adapter you can get to keep those features after swaping it but i dont want to blow over 200 bucks on that. and my neighbor who has a 2002 impala has a nice set of 16" polished alloy aftermarket rims and tires, rims look like torque thrusts. he is selling them to to me for 400 bucks i can easily get over that for the factory wheels and tires. but i may keep them for the winter and switch from the stock to the customs when the season for them is needed. so thanks for the advice guys but in 2 weeks i get the paperwork from my dad (it was his car) and i can go to the DMV and get the plates for it the same day.
