Really??? You think the old Malibu looks better than the new one?

Or are you confusing it with an old Chevelle, where "Malibu" was a trim level???

I just had an interesting idea (yes I'm bored ). Would I get similar gains by doing shorties and deleting the rear cat as I would if I did long tubes?

or another idea what if I did shorties, and welded on the rear small cat instead of keeping the front big cat? What would be the gains there?

I wouldn't think so. I don't think you'd gain all that much via cats.

Don't think so? I know most of the gains from long tubes are from high flow cats so I was just thinking maybe it'd help if I added the rear cats to the front. I currently have the rear cats deleted and those made some difference.

I have no idea. I just wouldn't think it would, but I'm far from a mechanical genius

Just trying to get the best of both worlds. A great sound with shorties and gains with more free flowing cats.

I thought it was established this morning by the V6 deities that I was an idiot for suggesting shorties sounded better? Lol

Just to clarify I never once implied that when I said that Kevin's was the best system I have heard. Sound is purely subjective so everyone will have a different opinion.

Hell no, I agree. Shorties sound great with the deep throaty sound without having rasp
