Shorties and longtubes? haha
How much are the brembo brakes? Did brake lines have to be upgraded?

With springs you're set on that particular drop...

With coilovers you can preset to whatever you want (to my knowledge) while keeping it reasonable (I.e. Stock height to autocrossing height etc.)

I also don't want to buy shocks and struts down the line which some manufacturers recommend...that'll put you close to the BC or Megan coilover price range.

Does buying a SC put me in this discussion?

Shorties first, then long tubes. I'd go back to the shorties in a heartbeat if I could.

I spent over a grand on brakes and did everything top notch. You will need new lines. I got Pedders stainless lines but you could just use SS take offs.

I want to snap up some of those myself soon. But for the 4 years I've had my Eibachs they've been great. I can't imagine why anyone would look anywhere else for springs and sways, unless you just like to spend more than you have to.

I think you have the use of coilovers confused. You can't change ride heights on the fly with coilovers. Well you could but you'd have to pay for a new alignment everytime you change ride heights. The reason people go with coilovers is because they allow you to adjust damper settings. In other words, they'll let you adjust the stiffness of the ride freely.

Not at all. Shorties sounded incredible. Long tubes required me to buy another muffler (call it a resonated x pipe if you must, it's a muffler) and chop my volume in half to eliminate the fart can noise.

But the performance gains, right? No. Who cares about 15hp (maybe)? My car is slightly less slow now..? For me, that isn't worth it. I'll never dyno this car and likely never race it.

Plus I could get rid of this garbage tune if I still had shorties. I tell you, those DT shorties were the tits and listening to all the people here and getting rid of them for the MONSTER (not) gains on long tubes was a huge mistake.

And on top of that, the damn long tubes make the cats scrape on speed bumps and steep driveways. Nerve wracking.

Why shorties??

I like how big the brembos look, but are they really worth it??

Depends on what you're going to use them for. If you're going to track the car, the brembos fade less. If you're not going to track, they're a cosmetic mod. At that point, it's up to u to see if they're worth it

I've definitely noticed that the shorties sound a lot nicer. I'm torn (in the back of my mind) between long tubes and shorties myself. I'd like the performance gains but I also don't want my car to sound bad. And shorties just make it sound meaner and deeper.

I know long tubes will probably scrape but I don't mind too much. I did want the gains of long tubes because I regularly track my car

Fade as in wear out? I want to start autocrossing next year. Season is over here already too cold. I went to the last event, my god was it awesome. No Camaros, but 3 newer vettes and 2 gt500s

LTH vs STH

If I understand shorties sound better, no tune need it and no scraping under, only downside you loose 15hp? What about cats? Shorties use factory cats? No need for the Xpipe either? That doesn't sound bad I'm after the better sound! Not so interested in more HP I don't do track... who can give me a detail review between both?
