Real world 1/4 mile results?
I know we have seen the magazine results but who will be the first owner to report 1/4 mile results? Anybody taking their C7 to the track this weekend?

Do they have a break-in period like the ZL1? Maybe someone will hit 1500 miles this week, and we will see!

Then stock with drag radials. Then bolt ons. Then balls to the wall.

The manual is available online
200 miles: don't go fast 500 miles: nothing abrupt, under 4000 rpm 1500 miles: track events. edited because I was off on the 200 v 500 mile things. Last edited by occar; 09-27-2013 at 09:51 PM. |

No, sorry. I was paraphrasing. I read it earlier this week. It was more about no rapid acceleration , etc. You can check what it actually says, the manual is free to download. I just am currently on a phone and not a computer or tablet. |

Did you happen to notice the wide gaps at the bottom of both doors? I wonder why GM did that? Maybe they serve a purpose???

New Vehicle Break-In Follow these recommended guidelines during the first 2414 km (1500 mi) of driving this vehicle. Parts have a break-in period and performance will be better in the long run.
For the first 322 km (200 mi): . To break in new tires, drive at moderate speeds and avoid hard cornering for the first 322 km (200mi). . New brake linings also need a break- in period. Avoid making hard stops during the first 322 km (200 mi). This is recommended every time brake linings are replaced. For the first 800 km (500 mi): . Avoid full throttle starts and abrupt stops. Do not exceed 4000 rpm. . Avoid driving at any one constant speed, fast or slow, including the use of cruise control. . Avoid downshifting to brake or slow the vehicle when the engine speed will exceed 4000rpm. . Do not let the engine labor. Never lug the engine. With a manual transmission, shift to the next lower gear. This rule applies at all times, not just during the break-in period. For the first 2414 km (1500 mi): . Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities during the first 2414 km (1500 mi). . Check engine oil with every refueling and add if necessary. Oil and fuel consumption may be higher than normal during the first 2414 km (1500 mi). There is the bit. I was off on some of the first ones. Direct copy out of the manual. |
