I just meant he didn't have an aftermarket converter. And even a stall converter is a torque converter it's just stalled higher than stock. But still a torque converter

Actually, stall and torque converter is the same. In a stock car, the converter is on a low setting. For racing applications, and what you want for your car, you get a higher stall

They surve the same purpose but are not reversible. A torq converter is a stock converter but a stall converter does the same thing just launches at a higher RPM hence the name stall.

At least this is what I have always been told even by performance shops.

Torque and stall converter is just terminology. They are the same thing. The stock torque converter is just a low stall. You can call it a stall converter.

Just saying what I have been taught lol. The way it was shown to me was like this:

A iPhone 5 is a type of iPhone and so is a iPhone 5S but they are not the same even though they look the same and serve the same purpose but have different internals. I can understand what you guys are saying too since they do the same exact job

I suppose. Kind of like calling your stock exhaust manifolds, headers.

You could always go to LMR and get it dyno tuned? Would be cheaper than getting an IPF tune

since you have the tune all you pay is dyno time and its only 75 bucks. TBH, theres not much difference between ipf and a dyno tuned trifecta. Or actually any LLT motor tuned. Theres just not much we can do at this point. But considering i paid 50$ in total for a dyno tune. i aint complaining

It's kinda like cams. Betcha didn't know I have cams in my car.

It's more like square vs rectangle: a square is a specific type of rectangle, but a rectangle is not always a square. A stall converter is a specific subset of torque converters, but not all torque converters can be classified as stall converter.

So what would be the total price, if I drove out there during fest, and got a performance tune, and a nitrous tune?
