I will not disagree with you on that because it is pretty true. Really most of the time if someone gets deported is because they have committed some sort of crime here on American Soil.

Well it is not a state law but it is a Federal policy. A state can not grant a person Citizen ship because that can only be done by the Federal Government. If I remember correctly the policy is called Wet feet, Dry feet and has been around since the Clinton era.

Just to be clear I have no problem with it. Most of the illegal immigrants I knew were much better Americans than most actual Americans are.

Worked their asses off, obeyed the law, appreciated what they had. I respected the hell out of almost all of them. Always a few bad apples in every group, but they impressed me on the whole.

I never once got that you had any resentment towards immigrants from what you said. I gotta say I am a crappy American and if I needed to take the test that is required for nationalization I would probably fail.

Sad to say but at least I am being honest. My dad wasn't born in the US and is from Cuba. My mother was but she is from Cuban and Puerto Rican decent.

I think a good portion of Americans would fail that test haha I know I prob would.

Yup and I am not alone. I am sure if you would give that test to 20 American born citizens somewhere around half would fail it.

I'm pretty sure I got a 100%. It was about 10 years ago, so I'm not completely sure-- but I was one of those nerdy guys with good grades (I only got less than a 97 on a report card once in high school). I think there are around 100 possible questions and we were tested on a random 30-50 of those.

For our AP classes, the subjective portion of our midterms were required in all of them, and we could be exempt from the objective part if we had at least a certain average in the course. Or objective was required and subjective was exempt-able, can't really remember.
