Ok getting ready to pull the trigger on headers but $200 difference between BBK & OBX! not doing mayor power upgrade, so my question (photos here) BBK comes with cats, so what's OBX has here? Is that for eliminate cats? Finish BBK is chrome, OBX stainless steel... they will get rust with time? Sorry for so many questions just want to make sure and save money...

In the OBX picture the ones closest to the headers look like off road extensions or a cat delete. Basically just a straight pipe that bolts up the the header so it can bolt up to your exhaust. Now I'm not sure what the ones on the right of those are in the OBX picture. They almost look like cats.

As for the rust yes the BBKs have a potential to rust over since they are a coated mild steel when the OBXs will not rust Because they are stainless. I for one have always been taught to do exhaust components in stainless so that they will not rust when at all possible. Do you drive your Camaro in the winter? If so and they salt the roads there is a higher risk of the BBKs rusting over and the same goes for people near the ocean.

I'm not sure how much you want to spend but I got a price from auto anythings website the other day for around 750-780 for the stainless BBKs which is what I plan on doing. I took a screen shot of it and can send it to you later today if you need it.

Feel free to ask me anything and I will do my best to answer it if I can't I'm sure one of us in here can.

Performance wise, both headers will give almost the same upgrade right? Then OBX stainless is a good choice for the price that in the case of the BBK stainless is almost $300 less...

just as an fyi, stainless steel can still rust. it doesn't happen as quickly, i'm sure the quality of stainless steel makes a difference as well. there are over 150 different grades of stainless steel. The chrome plated BBk's will rust pretty quickly. I would only recommend those if you live somewhere like las vegas. lol

OBX doesn't seem like a bad set of headers. many on here have them. I would personally save up for BBK stainless, living where you live, monchy. I went with ceramic coated when I lived in Las Vegas.

hey, at least it's cheaper than ARH.

nothing wrong with obx, if that's what you want to go with. I guess the biggest difference is if you want high flow cats or no cats.

Your right about stainless but depending on your climate they might never rust but the same goes for steel. Since I'm going to do the BBKs I am willing to pay the extra for stainless Because stainless rusts it's a lot more likely to be a surface rust and not a rust that will open opens and eat the metal

Monchy to help you out the OBX are still a great option. If you know you don't need cats for state inspections I would order the stainless OBX ones and an extra set of stock gaskets and bolts.

You can put the money you saved towards the tune if you don't have one already.

Envoy is clean and happy and pretty. Been far too long since I got a chance to wash her.

The instructions I have are for the SS front sway bar. Do I have to mess with the passenger tie rod at all?

This.

Both BBK and OBX SS pieces are made from Type 304 SS, which has decent corrosion resistance.
