Is the CTSV with the LSA still being built with the older body style for 2014?

The saddest thing is this only indicates that the V (not V Sport) but V will likely start in the mid 70's. Ouch.....................drooling in anticipation.................but ouch.

Mid 70s might even be a touch low. I would not be surprised if the next CTS-V comes in right around 80 grand. Thats still undercuts the Germans by about 10k.

The CTS VSport will start at $59k. Just say that the CTS-V is $20k more than that it will put the price at $79k-$80k. That would still put it cheaper than the competition: 2014 BMW M5-$90,900 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG 4Matic-$92,700 2014 Jaguar XFR-S-$99,000 2014 Audi RS7-$104,900

The base CTS increased 14% over the outgoing model. If the same rate hike applies to the CTS-V we're looking at $75k which as King T points out above is still considerably better than the competition. Also remember that Cadillac's tend to sell for much less than MSRP vs German counterparts. Take the ATS for example. The ATS on average sells for $3,800 (11%) under MSRP, whereas the average 3-series sells for $1,400 (4%) under MSRP. Granted the ATS represents an entirely new segment for Cadillac but the point remains, there's more wiggle room for domestics.

the 14' CTS to me, is one of the most eye catching designs on the road. I love it, I love everything about it. GM completely nailed this one IMO. I hope to be able to own one of these cars one day

The thing is based on the LFX 3.6, which has some forged internals like the crank, but is a bit weak in the rod/piston area. These things are strengthened in this engine. Now, we have already seen someone here do a custom twin turbo job on a basically stock LFX and push it to nearly 600 REAR wheel horsepower before it blew up at the track. Now this owner has gone back and bought stronger internals and the engine should be much stouter. With that in mind, not to mention the other changes to this new TTV6...I feel like we could see 475 - 500HP and 500+ TQ with just an aggressive tune done and nothing else.

I doubt we'll be seeing the same sort of tune-only gains with this engine vs an Ecoboast. The purpose of Ecoboast is, supposedly, fuel economy. The purpose of this engine is performance -which is why it makes so much more power and torque from the factory. GM already gave it a fairly hot tune to begin with. There will still be gains to be made, but I wouldn't expect to see 500 hp from changing just a few 1s and 0s
