SPEED channel is gone
Just noticed that The SPEED channel is gone and has been replaced with FS1.
They claim SPEED will live on through Fox Sports but I am sure it will take a back seat to fun stuff like golf, badminton , and hurling.

They did it to bring in more traffic for UFC, Football, Basketball, Soccer, etc. I liked a straight auto channel too, but I think the power in numbers rules all. Not as many people watch live anymore, and they just spent a ton of money with the UFC, so I think they needed to adapt. Hopefully, someone else will step up and give us a straight auto channel again

SPEED was nothing more than a NASCAR channel for the most part. It had a few good programs and some WSB BSB and MOTOGP races along with other programs but they were few and far between. I like the idea of a auto sports station but less focus on NASCAR.

It "was" my favorite channel. I set the DVR Thursday to record the 2 Grand Am races Saturday and found neither recorded.
 There was no notice or even mention of it by the announcers. Not interested in watching 2 guys all over each other beating one another to a pulp. Looks like a huge opening for new racing channel to do it right. Grand Am, SCCA, FIA, etc.

Just read this, SPEED...come back. Turned on the TV and noticed football on Fox Sports 1. If I wanted to watch football, I'd turn to ESPN. Who's ideal was this?
