stranded on the side of the road!

While taking my son home my blazer started pouring smoke. We were 15 minutes into a 40 minute drive when it happened. I called the mrs to pick up my son and take him home. I call a towing company and they want 95 bucs! Holy! Ok its gota get done. To make matters worse its hot as hell and the swamp ass is in full effect. I'm stuck next to a field and the bugs are eating me up! Sumbich! One just crawled up my shirt! . It seems they have a taste for humans! Driver just called and he's on the other side of town. . Damn, anything else? Soooo....how's your day going?

Why people don't have AAA when they have an older unreliable car is beyond me... If not AAA why not some type of roadside assistance program? Makes no sense. Doesn't AAA do like 20 miles free tow? I'd invest in it if I were you lol

I have a couple of older VW's, and for about 100 bucks a year AAA will tow you 100 miles as many times as you want. priceless

I would say $95 is the going rate. like others said, get tripple A or add towing to your insurance policy

AAA is the best. On my 23rd year with them. I have the Premier membership and it give you one 200 mile tow per year and the rest at 100 miles. This saved my pocket once when my 1985 Nissan tranny died 180 miles from home. I would have paid over $500 for that tow, not a dime with AAA.

For me, it would be a waste of money. In my 30 years of driving, I've needed a tow truck exactly zero times. Even if I had to spring for a $500 tow bill, I'd be money ahead in the long run.

Forget AAA...they've NEVER shown up in less than an hour to tow my car...EVER! Now I pay an extra $2 a month on my car insurance and call it done.

Tehee hee! Unreliable? Wheelio who said my truck was unreliable? Where did you come to that conclusion? Its a mechanical machine. They all break down at some point. Hell, I bet even a 5th gen suffered a mishap. Happens but you got to work with it. No biggie. Oh and called my ins. Just in case my POS breaks again.
