Because the government required lead free solder at the time they were designing the 360. While other companies used higher end solder, microsuck used extremely cheap solder which became brittle and developed hairline cracks. Since it was so cheap, it melted very easily.

FF7 is one of the best games ever made, I don't even feel nerdy saying it!

It was so ahead of its time, I still have that game...just never play it lol
