Ya'll also seem to forget that back in the spring a study was done by both Microsoft and Sony and it showed that only 25% of consoles sold was connected to the internet. If Microsoft went ahead with their original plan, they would have alienated 75% of their target base. So no Dtrimpi87, you are not part the majority. As a matter of fact, you are far from it.

He wasn't talking about consoles being connected to the internet. He was talking about access to high speed internet.

But in general the discussion is about consoles being online, not just about access. I have high speed internet but yet none of my consoles are connected and never will be. If a connection is required to play a game or console, I won't buy it.

Not that it matters to me since I pay for a Gold Subscription. But now alot of features that you could get without the Gold Membership no longer apply. Like Hulu, Netflix, Xbox Party Chat etc. Ill find the source website and update my Xbox and PS4 News Thread

It did suck, but they added party chat (for free) so I'm okay with it now.

lets be honest, who's going to chat with their buddies "for free", when they have to pay to play multiplayer online with their buddies.

it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have to have gold. people could just set up their blue-ray dvd online to play Netflix/hulu/etc.

No it requires it. Everything on XBL basically requires gold.

one option would be to buy a tv with internet/Netflix connected already. this way, if you can't afford gold, or forget to pay, or just don't want it anymore, you still have Netflix. lol

or just buy a used ps3 for dirt cheap.
