100% Agreed. Last year, my wife and I were going out for dinner and a guy in an '87 Caravan wanted to go at it on the highway. I just ignore them. I don't want a speeding ticket.

You might not have bought it to race, but it has the power and look of what some would consider a "race car" (at least in a young person’s mind aka mustang drivers).... So you can’t expect to not be tested, and if you intend on calling the cops every time someone revs at you while on the road, I hope you have the cops on speed dial.

Me personally, I don’t put my kids in my Camaro; I have a less "intimidating" daily driver for this exact reason.

So let me get this straight everyone bought there camaro to daily cruise guy and gals live a little. Now I understand if your kid is in the car then that's not the time to do it. But if roads are clear and nice long straight road then smoke him. I mean they didn't put the power in there for nothing. Yeah and guess i'am dumb now cause I like to race. Oh we'll.

Not just mustang owners. Better question to ask is why are people so stupid? When I drive the mustang I have plenty of Camaros pulling that crap, and when I drive the vette I get mustangs doing it. Add in the exotics, bmws, Mercedes, wrxs, etc that do the same thing. Hell I had a Miata trying to race me the other day in the vette. He wouldn't give up.

I must admit that the ZL1 is an interesting choice for "cruising" with small kids. I have made a lot of upgrades to mine but it is the fastest car I have ever owned, and I have had 3 supercharged cars, one turbocharged car, and many sporty naturally aspirated models.

I constantly encourage the rowdy's to bring their car to a racetrack. Some people only drive on the street and they want to race on the street. You can only control you and in every situation you have to make a decision. You are responsible for the safety of your vehicle and its passengers. If it is not safe for you then don't do it and don't worry about it. And just because I don't feel safe, I try not to judge the ability of other drivers. If you have lapped road courses you have seen that there is a huge amount of skill required to run consistent and fast laps, especially when other cars are right next to you. Hooligan driving requires a fair amount of skill and I know there are many people that are better at it than I am. If I feel the situation is safe for me, I may show them what my car has and if not, it is okay. It will still be a beautiful day if some Mustang roars past me and I watch him go.

It happens to me all of the time, I just ignore them. I had a young man in an Audi A5 zoom by me in the lane next to me and got stuck at the light. I rolled down my window and looked at him shook my head and said "are you serious"? He was told by his passenger that it was "ZL1". He then got a bit less aggressive. He still tried to spin his tires as the signal changed to green. I just took off as normal cruising.

Which leads to the story of the two bulls on the hill. I used to tell this story to the rookie Firefighter/Paramedics I would get assigned with that were hyper and couldn't sit still. Some of you may have heard it already my apologies. Language has been cleaned up but you get the message.

Two bulls are at the top of a hill looking down on the herd of cows grazing in the pasture. One older bull and a younger one. The younger one says to the older one, "hey let's run down the hill and catch one of the cows when they start to run and mate with it"? The older one looks over at the younger bull and says to him, "why don't we just walk down the hill and mate with all of them"!

Never happens when I drive my minivan.

Next time that Mustang pulls up to my van, I'm gonna be that guy in the van so they can feel the wrath of my 4.0 V6 Chrysler Town & Country!

The cause of this are all the infernal base model V6s. It's true. Some guy in XYZ car smoked the V6 model of your car, and now thinks that your car is much the same.

I used to have everything playing the outaccelerate me game in that daggone Lumina. Really, just about anyone could be oing 10 under the speed the limit and as soon as i would start to pass they would find their freaking gas pedal. Now it is of course totally different reasons, in that car I think they were like "oh hell no that POS ain't passing me!"

The name of the car gets inside there head (I have a MUSTANG) my car can do anything. In high school I had my 3rd gen and some guy in a mustang pulled up next to me. Started reving and didn't realize the Z-28 Camaro in front was an under cover police car. And since I ignored him he started to mess with the undercover cop. He takes off burning rubber thinking he was racing the Camaro then the lights go on. He gets pulled over and his car gets inpounded and he got arrested. It's more the name of the car that makes them act the way they do.
