It appears everyone on the internet is obsessed with trolls.

You know it used to be trolls, well, were actually they people out to troll. Coming to a forum like this and saying "mustangs are the only good muscle car, chevy's suck!" or going to a video game forum and saying "Nintendo sucks!!!"

But it's like EVERYwhere I go now, EVERY normal conversation on the internet turns into "oh he's just trolling". Any difference of opinion. Now people think that posters are going into "Stealth troll" mode and just being really subtle. EVER THINK THAT THEY'RE JUST NOT TROLLS?

I made a thread here with my financial information, asking if I could afford a new Camaro. I didn't think it was all that unreasonable but that's why i was asking. I have never bought a new car.
Apparently my life is so unbelieveably bad to people they thought I MUST be trolling. Who the hell goes around making troll pasts with like that? How lame would that be?

In today's internet it seems like anyone that ever makes any post to get replies about anything is a troll. For the life of me I can't figure out what the point of forums are anymore.

Meh, I don't really agree with you. If people make posts to get a reply, that's fine. But if they are hoping for an argument, or just want to see people get worked up, than that's trollish.

Ok but calling everyone a troll when they're not looking for an argument is stupid. And that's what people are doing these days.

But people looking/hoping for an argument.. well maybe it's just fun for them so I don't see anything wrong with that either

Seriously though man. Just forget all the crap you here. This is different than other typical forums anyway. I hear it all the time.

Maybe set up a profile. Use an avatar.

PS, don't put the word 'Troll' in your avatar.

thats part of the way things are. I was talking with another member from here a little while ago about a similar situation. where this forum has grown "old" so to speak. where a lot of our valuable info is posted and buried under numerous new threads. the mods have been doing a lot to merge subsequent threads, but when you get 978 people that all start their own thread asking the same question, its hard to filter thru to find the info you need. I recently did a search... for something I posted a while ago and I had to look thru 18 different threads (some of which had over 20 pages...with 40 posts per page) and finally found what I was looking for. wasnt easy, but I found it. however, with the search criteria I put in with the advanced search, I still had to go thru over half of the threads that only had about 5 posts (mostly linking them to another thread). but one of the things ive noticed is that we are on the way to becoming another forum that if you dont already know the answer before you ask or arent well known, you aren't going to get much help. and I dont want that to happen. I've been here nearly since the site was started and have seen it evolve from its young beginnings to what it is today. we have an interesting mix of people here, most of them are great to deal with and discuss things with. then we have others that havent even been here more than a year and think they can badmouth other members because of their post count or join date. then theres some who joined very recently and seem like they are just looking for trouble. but if you have people on here calling you a troll, let me know. I'll take care of them.

What color of Camaro should I get?

Where is my order?

Why does it take so long?
