Muirfield is kicking everyone's ass today. Love watching them play in tough conditions.

Oh yeah, wind, pot bunkers, and heather! All the stuff I never want to have on my course!

I've been in heather before, once you're in you never get out, or at least I don't

I hear ya. We have a links course in Charlotte (as close to it as you can get around here) and it has some crazy rough. Played it yesterday was even through 6 on back until I got in that rough. Shot 80 but was still fun. Charlotte Golf Links if anyone gets a chance check it out.

If I go to Davidson College I'll be sure to seek it out, I think Charlotte isn't too far south from there, right?
The one I played was in RI of all places, The Carnegie Abbey. Bad memories especially since I played it when I was just starting out, made me wanna quit the sport altogether!

I'm going to Hummble TX to visit family and plan on playing the TOUR 18 golf course. Has anyone played it and what other course would you suggest in the area?

Hello All,

First post to this cool thread. I have not played a single round this year. Spending all my time watching my daughter play travel softball. I plan to return to golf a few days a week in 3 more years when my kids have graduated High School. If all goes well (weather problems on Monday's) I should be playing this Monday with my neighbor as a sub on his team.

I avg. approx 42 - 45 typically. I do have 2 hole in ones to my credit thou.

And when I find time I can practice my short game from 50 yards and shorter in my back yard as I have my own chipping course cut into my lawn. I have markers every 10 yards and a regulation cup and pin.

Way Cool! Wish I could get one of those in my backyard... But then again my home course is just across the street, not even a 20 second walk to the 3rd green and 4th tee box

Hey fellow linksters!
I do like to play golf ( I too have only gotten to play 18 holes one time this yr ). Have been to the driving range several times, but just cannot find the time to spend 4-5hrs on the course. But , I do enjoy the game....

Open Championship Update

Jiminez succumbed to the evils of a links course.
Tiger held on, and Westwood prospered!
Can't wait to see Sunday Tiger and Westwood in action tomorrow...

I couldn't cheat and hit that good. I enjoy playing a round every now and then but I'm usually just hacking it up with my grandpas hand-me-down clubs. On some courses if I don't lose more than half a dozen balls I consider it a success.

This is the biggest divot I have ever seen taken and I am the owner of it haha. My buddies shoe size is a 12 lol....looking at about an 18in divot lmao. I hit it perfect though haha. I hit it and was watching my ball then I hear a sound like a body falling from the sky and hitting the ground and I noticed it was my divot while the ball was still in the air lol. I started cracking up before my ball even hit the ground lol.

The result of that divot . Not too great of a shot...great contact but a hefty pull. 170 yard 9 iron

Tell me you don't always hit your 9 that far! Because it looks like you planned for it to go that far because you are more or less pin high, albeit just left because of the pull...

A pull will always go farther. So he actually under clubbed and got lucky.
