then you have to ask yourself this question, why make a turbo version?

or better yet, why have two different engines?

Because the 1.4T isn't a performance engine, it's an economy engine. It's the same realm as Ford's EcoBoost engines in their passenger cars. Use a small displacement engine but slap a turbo on to generate an acceptable power output. That's been par for the course for years now overseas due to displacement taxes.

As for why the 1.8L still exists, I honestly have no clue. It's a crappy engine compared to the 1.4T.

Now the LTG (and its LHU and LNF predecessors) is a performance engine. It was built specifically to maximize power out of a small engine block.

well, all you would need is another 100hp on these cars, and they would be very fun cars to drive. they are already decent, and have great handling.

That's because the Corvette team did the suspension and handling work on it.

The 1.6T would make a decent performance-oriented engine for Sonic. And Cruze for that matter.

Not sure. I've never seen a dyno graph for it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say its a typo, or just very sluggish when speeding up
