[QUOTE=FenwickHockey65;6766469]And just exactly where was a V8 mentioned?
You guys are reading waaaaay too deeply into this. There's a pretty good chance nothing will come out of the concept at all. Not everything GM does is related to Camaro. Alpha or not. A better indication would be ATS Coupe.[/Q I am reading nothing, I just see design cues that resemble 90s and early 70s camaros. If you don't then you are blind. Is it a coincidence? More than likely but it is interesting nonetheless Last edited by ssrs396; 07-09-2013 at 02:49 PM. Reason: sp |

As for the styling resembling older Camaros, I personally think its a mere co-incidence. Afterall, this isn't the first Opel Monza thats been built: ![]() thats from the mid 80s. When I look the new concept, and compare it to that picture, and then to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation Camaros I tend to see more Monza than Camaro in the Monza. The grill is a trapazoidal shape that is larger at the top. The top of the headlights are above the top of the grill. There are vents/inlets placed below the headlights. I would never say that they look the same, or even similar. But to me, the inspiration is clearly there. And for the record, half an hour ago I had no idea there was even an older Opel Monza that existed. But a little looking around, for Chevy Monzas, for possible sources of inspiration for the new concept car, I stumbed across that car.

It makes sense because GM went more European in the 70s which I like. And at least from the front it would make a great modern version of these model years. Does't mean it is but it is interesting. ![]() ![]() ![]()

A mod at GMI is currently doing a challenge to drive from New Jersey to Lordstown Assembly in Ohio and back to New Jersey with a Cruze Diesel on one tank of fuel. Doesn't seem like a big deal at first until you consider that's about 100 miles over the estimated range for the Cruze Diesel.
Day 1 complete with a 52.6 MPG average at 60-65 MPH with moderate A/C usage.

Hoping the diesel sells well. I feel like GM is testing the waters on this one.

I got seat time in a number of 2014 Silverados yesterday.
The salesman was trying to talk to me about the incentives on the GMT-900s, and what I told him sums up my opinion of the new trucks. "Even if I was in the market right now, there is no way I'd take a 2013 over a 2014." You would have to pay me to take a GMT-900 over a K2XX. Huge improvement in materials, quality, and design.

Any idea when they will start building standard cab long box 4x4 models?
I checked out the crew cabs and like what I saw on them, I'm just waiting to order a regular cab.

The only info I have on that is start of production in Q3 2013. LV3 equipped models and Double Cabs also begin production around that timeframe.

Two bits of Corvette related news.
1) The C7.R and C7 Z06 are rumored to be unveiled together at an upcoming auto show. Possibly NAIAS. 2) I get to see TWO Corvette Stingrays tomorrow.
