Since I am retired I get to play golf twice a week. If it wasn't I for my back I would play more.

I'm Matt, 24 years old. Been playing since I was 12. Captain of my high school golf team for four years. My senior season finished with an average of 70.4.
Had a pretty terrible back injury that summer and had to turn down over a dozen D1 scholarships. Ended up walking on where I went to college, but it was D3, the team was awful, and the coach didn't like me whipping up on his recruits so I walked. I play as often as health allows, and usually shoot around 75. It's not that fun anymore when you see shots that used to be cake and now you can't do. I have one ace on a 156 yard par 3 with a 9 iron. Backed it up about 5 yards straight into the cup. Although I think I've hit much better shots. I spray drives like crazy but I can hit any gap and working the ball is my favorite thing to do. Currently playing the Titleist 913 driver, 15* 3 wood, and 17* hybrid , Nike pro combo irons, vokey 54*, Cleveland 60*, and Cameron putter. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4 Beta

I use golf GPS for the iPhone and I like it. Seems to do a pretty good job.

added to OP-
AdamZ's recommended apps- Golf GameBook- This app is a cool app to track you and your friends scores. Just download the app, create an account, add your friends, then keep a nice little database of your scores. (I would recommend visiting their website to under stand the app) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- GolfNow.com app- this app gets you ridiculous deals. Download the app, create an account, then click "find tee times", fill out your criteria and search. Then book your tee times through the app with a credit card, show up to the course, grab your keys, hit the first hole. I play very nice courses that would normally cost $40-$60 for pennies on the dollar. I played 18 holes today for $8 18 holes riding (normally $48). |

Then again, I develop for Android, so my standards are probably higher than most when it comes to designing a solid app. At least it was free. I'd be pretty livid if I paid a nickel for it.

I bought the Garmin GPS wrist watch off amazon 3 months ago ($169). LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Turn it on, press start round. It takes 20 seconds to locate itself and then load the course. Of course it knows exactly what course you are playing and that you are standing on the first tee box.
You want a yardage you just look at your wrist, gives you yardage to the front middle and back of the green. And it is more than accurate enough. Laser range finders are a pain in the ass to use and they slow down game play. WHILE WE'RE YOUNG!
