what's up guys? So finally got my exhaust fixed... man that resonated x pipe sure makes a different.. idk if I like having mufflers yet.. its definitely quiter than before.. no drone or rasp.. I might do muffler delete later.. for now I'll run with it.. got a video I have to upload..

So.. remember how I complained about no gains from the LT? Well as soon as I picked up the car I was like wow... it was really fast and responsive.. just what I was expecting after then install of headers... what can it be?? The change from h to x pipe?? Or maybe I needed some back pressure???

I have no experience with this, so I am just taking a guess. But I would have to think that it would be somewhat worse, since the rear seats probably keep a portion of the noise out. But I would think it would be pretty simple to line the rear seat delete with some sort of noise canceling fabric or something like that. Just a guess though

Glad you have noticed gains from the LTs. I think it is prob due to the car finally get use to them. As far as the x-pipe and muffler the x-pipe is known to drastically reduce the sound of the exhaust system but it elimantes all rasp so I'm betting it is the res x pipe you don't like rather than the mufflers.

That is what I was thinking too...I think I'll test it out this coming week and see how it sound..if it is really bad I'll put the rear seat back, in heard it is only 5 bolts that need to be tinkered with, while I come up with a way to fab something that looks nice and will reduce some of the sound.

I think I saw a pic of the seat part of the rear seat out and I believe it reveals the skeleton of the car some what but I won't know till I do it, if that is the case I guess I'll have to fab something.

Well the x pipe made it really deep.. like I have no drone but its deep noise now.. I will leave it like this for now.. I'll leave next WK or so.. so no time to change.. when I get back I'll look in to it.. the muffler guy said he can create a axle back muffler delete if I want that I can swap with my muffler and see what it sounds like... but that's later..... for now I am happy Cuz the car feels better...

Hope the weather isn't to bad for you. I know there were some really strong showers this afternoon here in Tallahassee.

Looks like we will have a clear night.

Can't wait to get home so I can start working on the car. Also hope she is in one piece and didn't get flooded out.

im debating. what would a x pipe, like tru X do sound wise from a H pipe?

Also, i seem to get a rice shaking noise sometimes only on cold starts.. what would you say would cause that? a pinhole leak?

regardless i got about 30 hp peak as seen on the dyno so im not complaining.

BTW FOR LSCAMARO

slips are being uploaded

As for the Tru X pipe.. you mean non resonated?? I would not recommended it.. I have one sitting in the garage that I removed because the drone and the rasp was terrible and that was with no headers on...

Never heard of anyone doing that but would be interesting.

I've been thinking about removing my rear seat since no-one ever sits in there, plus I can put it in my apartment and have a cool love-seat couch! haha...anyways I wasn't planning on buying the rear seat delete since it is insanely overpriced. My question is will the drone be even worse in the car with the seat removed? I could always fab my own kit thing and add some carpet/sound deadening material to it if it is real bad.
It will be louder but I don't think it'll be too bad. If you want to test it first, just lower the seat and you'll get a decent idea of how it'll change.

The x pipe actually flows better and a lot experience exactly what you described. It doesn't have to do with back pressure. It's probably both the x pipe and headers.

The tru x will make it a louder but also very very raspy. The rice shaking noise is normal. It's just the cats and exhaust heating up. If you ever turn your car on and go for a ride you'll notice that at the beginning it'll be raspier and after a few minutes, things will mellow out a bit.

Sweet run! You can reduce your times even more with some more traction.

btw... i think ive given up hope for my car as well. I think after i tune it... i will keep it and then wait out for a 6th gen camaro SS, maybe a used 2013 SS if the 6th gen sucks, or a c7 stingray but the lowest priced one and then build the crud out of it.

this v6 is great... but unless we get some vender support then im just done. Ill get Matt to tune it, hopefully itll only need one tune and be good then maybe lower it, get new headlights, and then bye bye mods. luckily everything i get, i can sell

Although im debating nitrous just to make people look bad at the track when they lose to a v6
