They haven't released one yet. Most peoples guesses are in November because some next generation games already have a release date. I believe COD ghosts release date is November 5th.

Just found this...

"ignore those pre-order emails Amazon's been sending you, or the rumors you've been reading: Xbox One is not launching on November 27. Conveniently, that's just a few days before the United States' biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, but it isn't necessarily the date Microsoft's settled on for Xbox One. It's just Amazon's best guess.

“We have not informed our retail partners about a specific launch date for the Xbox One," Microsoft told IGN. "It is commonplace for retailers to put placeholders dates and prices into our system until they are given a specific date and price. We are excited to release the Xbox One in November 2013.”

This date is confirmed for the 360 and PS3 versions. I've found anything saying the PS4 and Xbox1 will release the same day.

The price for Sony's equivalent for the PS4 has already been announced, it's $50. So if you want to make them equal packages, the PS4 still comes out cheaper at $449.

Add on to the fact that many 3rd party developers have came out and said that the PS4 is more then 50% more powerful than the Xbox1 and that games that the PS4 can run at 60 fps in 1080i can only do so in 720p on the Xbox, the PS4 very quickly becomes a better deal.
Regardless of the pricing of the two systems with just looking at the two systems spec wise they are very close in performance with the PS4 be slightly ahead. Not 50% ahead though. Add in the the capabilities with cloud for the Xbox one and it could come out on tops in terms of power. The only way we will know though is when the first party games come out how good they look on the new systems. Third party games that are multi platform will mean nothing cause of the way things are ported over to other systems

Doesn't really matter to me but the few times I've used a PS3, the user interface really did suck.

The companies that have had their hands on the hardware of both systems for months now disagree with you. This isn't just one or two companies, this is multiple companies stepping forward and saying this. When you have several developers state in interviews that the PS4 can handle their graphics at 60 fps in 1080 but the Xbox1 can only get 60 fps in 720, even if the 50% difference is an exaggeration, that still shows a big difference in the capabilities of the two systems.

You're forgetting something, Sony will be using Cloud tech as well. Little has been said yet on how both companies will utilize it, but so far both companies have said they will be using it the same way. Any power boost the Xbox1 gets from the Cloud, the PS4 will get the same amount. So for right now, this aspect of the discussion is wash as both companies are on equal grounds.

Third party ports will mean more this generation than ever before. The current generation, yea you can't really compare the same game on the PS3 and 360 because of the difficulty of the PS3's programming. When the PS3 first came out, you could always tell if a developer programmed the game for the 360 and then ported over because most developers didn't want the hassle to get it right. However, next gen consoles supposedly are almost identical in this aspect which makes porting games from one to the other extremely easy. Come next gen, any differences shown between the Xbox1 and PS4 when using the same game can almost entirely be attributed to the differences in hardware.

When Sony announced that the PS4 was gonna allow used/rental games it was a no brainer they had to cave. Either that or see Sony eat them alive. I still think the PS4 will outsell the Xbox, because the Kinect is not worth the $100 premium over the PS4. I have the original Kinect and have yet to use it outside the first day it got home.

The kinect is a little more advanced than the one that came with the 360. Which in turn, means most people will probably use it more this time around. For the voice commands, at the very least. No more remote control.

ok, I made a mistake, it took the free shipping (3-5 business days) is the reason I got December 4th date. I cancelled that order and changed to 2 day shipping with the free 30 day trial thing. so I will now get my console on release day!

Amazon is pretty good at making sure that if you pre-order, your stuff comes in on release day. But of course if there's a delay due to the postal service, then there's not much Amazon can do.

One place not to pre-order: Target. I pre-ordered Horizon from them. It came in on release day, but it was in pretty bad shape. The case was ripped apart. I'm still surprised to this day that the disc works fine.

Oh yeah with Amazon, whatever you order for release day delivery will get there on release day. They're really good about that. I've bought three games with release day delivery and they've always been waiting for me on that day when I get home from work.
