guys, i know myself i appreciate what fbodfather does, but i assure you he can more than afford to purchase a camaro if he chooses. He's not destitute and this is absolutely not necessary. My wife and i make well under $50k a year and can still afford to buy a 2ss so i don't think Scott is gonna need a handout to buy his car..

Why does Thor need saving? Is GM going to take it from him?

In the end, they will. Its technically not his but more a company car from my understanding. When it's time to 'retire' the car at GM's discretion they will just give him a new CTF and sell Thor after a retrofit as a used car.

IIRC it's common practice for car manufacturers to do so.

So I wanted to start this to save the car because he had already purchased one for his Mother and said that he couldn't afford this one on top of the other car.

I'm in for at least a little donation (I just took a 15% paycut and another 5% is likely on the way...) so when things get official, I'll be there

Is this a great community or what?!!!

2ss/RS w 6spd and Sunroof. Also threw in a color matched engine cover for him to pick up if he so wishes. From my memory I think it had one so that's why I added it into the price. You can crosscheck it on the chevy website.
He has 21"s on there too...

EDIT: Ok, i guess he doesnt. I remember thinking to myself those werent the correct wheels, but i looked at some previous posts and the Unveiling thread itself and saw pictures of Midnight Silver on the car. I think i got it mixed up with the Camaro they had at the Pittsburgh Auto show for whatever reason.

This is probably true for a large part of the membership here. Its a great idea and I'll do what I can upon concurrence of Scott but how about a back up plan..... what if the membership here petitioned GM to donate the car to Scott. I'm sure a ton of email directed to the right person would get a lot of attention and I believe there will be far more people able to participate.

Sorry. I'm still kind of at odds with how the building/delivery of my car was handled. Still no ground effects and Scott Settlemire not answering my questions about the ground effects directly but instead skirted around it by saying bankruptcy was not a reason. That response still sticks in my craw. Deliver a complete product and I'll sign/donate. Well, thank you for the indirect response. Still have no ground effects and I'm about to leave for vacation on July 24th and wanted my car complete. Going to be over a month since I took delivery and nothing more heard about it. Scott is a great politician and spinster but not very good at answering clear cut, direct questions. I hope he pays for his car like the rest of us have to. After getting cut up in the finance office, I don't pity him if he loses his car. Sorry folks, I just don't agree. If we can't get hand-outs, he shouldn't either. Just an honest disagreement. I hope he doesn't leave the company though. Good luck with everything Scott. I still like you man!

Scott should be able to buy it through PEP. It'll be a lot cheaper once he gets 15k or so miles on it.

Thor by law has to be destroyed.. Unless it is placed in a museum environment at GM where it is never driven on public roads.. But I agree, if there are people on this forum willing to give money to Scott so he could buy another yellow Camaro, then I am all for it.. Yes, we know he is not poor, however there is nothing wrong with giving thanks to someone who has helped out this site and the Camaro community as a whole..
