The SRT they did the year before was around 7 seconds quicker than the Charger Pursuit still.

1) Badges

2) Bumper insert/DRL-fog light surround/rear diffuser is matte/flat black instead of a high gloss

3) Quad tip exhaust for the SS V compared to single tip dual exhaust for the Chevy SS

4) Wheels. The custom finished billet aluminum black 20 inch wheels on the SS-V look better than the 19 inch forged aluminum wheels on the SS

5) Color. The very nice Metallic Orange on the SS-V compared to the Silver Ice Metallic that is shown on the SS

-Just paint the matte black parts gloss black

-Get some quad exhaust tips (like a lot of Camaro owners went to ZL1/1LE quad tips)
[IMG]http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=510039&stc=1&d=1368533 128[/IMG

larger wheels (I think the ZL1 wheels would look good on it)

And it'll be back to the Holden people loved
Don't Jackie Chan me ..
So with a paint job , trans swap and new (bigger) wheels it would be a Holden with a bow tie
I DID think the lower front fascia was different. My bad :-(

At least they didn't call it a cheVelle.

Look at some of the competition of the SS:

Ford Taurus SHO
AWD (FWD-based)
6 Speed Auto
3.5L Twin turbo V-6: 365 hp
Weight: 4,341 lbs
Starts at $39,995, but to equal everything that comes standard on the SS, it takes $5,000 worth of options putting it at $45,115

Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec
RWD
8 Speed Auto
5.0L V-8: 429 hp/376 lb-ft of torque
Weight: 4,046 lbs
$48,785

Chrysler 300 SRT8
RWD
5 Speed Auto
6.4L V-8: 470hp/470 lb-ft of torque
Weight: 4,365 lbs
$48,995

Dodge Charger SRT8
RWD
5 Speed Auto
6.4L V-8: 470hp/470 lb-ft of torque
Weight: 4,365 lbs
$46,620

Nissan Maxima (yeah I know, but it is still considered a "sports sedan")
FWD
CVT Transmission
3.5L V-6: 290hp/261 lb-ft of torque
Weight: 3,568 lbs
$41,410

2014 Chevy SS
RWD
6 Speed Auto
6.2L V-8: 415 hp/415 lb-ft of torque
Weight: 3,975 lbs
$44,470

No problem matt55!

For a lot of people that think that the Holden SS-V looks "way better", there a reason for that. It's because it is a "Show Car" and doesn't fully represent the production version of the SS-V. It's full of a lot of one-off things:

SS-V Concept Show Car
Quote:
True to tradition, the SS V-Series show car is designed for maximum look-at-me impact.

The performance show car is a custom-finished, 'amped up' pointer to the VF sports range, to be launched mid-2013. It's muscular design is enhanced with a bespoke paint job in brilliant metallic orange, contrasted against glossy black multi-spoke wheels.

Striking exterior treatment aside, the preview gives prospective buyers an idea of what to expect when Holden's VF sport luxury range makes its showroom debut.

Under spotlights, the show car's glowing finish emphasises the more sculpted, layered surfacing and bolder graphics that give the VF SS V-Series Commodore a powerfully different sports design character and complement its classic rear drive performance car proportion.

Peter Hughes, Holden's Design Manager, Exteriors, said the creative team relished the task of preparing a hero show car version of the upcoming VF SS V-Series Commodore sedan.

"We wanted to put something out there that made a bit of an impact," he said.

"The SS V show car isn't too far removed from the final design intent – we've just amped it up a little.

"The gloss black paint on the hand-machined double five-spoke wheels is a custom finish, while the cool gunmetal chrome detailing on the front fascia and the vertical fender vents is less overt, more in tune with this car's luxury persona," she said.

"With the fusion of gloss black elements, the gunmetal chrome and that sensational orange metallic finish, we wanted to blur the boundary between luxury sports tourer and dramatic sports machine".

SS V-Series show car exterior feature highlights:

- Custom Kandy 'Fantale' metallic paint finish

- Twin five-spoke 20-inch wheels, hand-machined in billet aluminium, custom finished in gloss black

- Front Brembo brake calipers finished in gloss silver

- Wide, dominant front fascia features traditional sports grille and a prominent lower air intake, both laced in custom gunmetal chrome

-Sculpted, jewelled halogen projector headlamps with black bezels curve into prominent front fenders, flared, aero-modified wheel arches

- Muscular lower fascia incorporates LED daylight running lamps and black bezel fog lamps, custom gunmetal chrome accents, outboard extensions integrated into sharp sports rockers

- Low, wide VF rear sports fascia – streamlined graphics with integrated tail lamps, aluminium decklid, body-colour bib spoiler, custom gloss black finish sports valance incorporating licence plate and quad V8 exhausts

- In profile, vertical fender vents and window surrounds are finished in custom gunmetal chrome
Here's what one actually looks like

(Notice the matte black front bumper and rear diffuser)

-The nice glossy rear lower valance is gone, replaced by a standard matte black one.

-Gone are the 20 inch billet aluminum wheels replaced by 19 forged aluminum wheels.

-The custom "gunmetal chrome" trim pieces have been replaced by regular chrome.

-The smoked tail lights are back to normal

-Gets chrome door handles on the production car compared to the nice body-colored handles of the SS-V show car

-That one-off metallic orange paint has been replaced by a more realistic production orange color

Then there's the interior

Hopefully you wouldn't get one beat on like the police around here love to beat on these Caprices! It's like they're flying everywhere since they're not in 250 hp Crown Vics anymore!
G8 would be better but bang for the buck the PPV wins. Look at all the '94-'96 9C1's that were cloned into an Impala SS. Those old LT1's are now beat for sure, the PPV is the new generation cheaper-sleeper sedan. Get one with black steelies and poverty caps to complete the ruse.
Sure it looks like an Impala, that's the idea.

I'm going to buy one just so people stop driving like ***hats around me. Not the same effect as a CVPI but close with the right hardware.

This is still the better deal when it comes to performance. not only do you get an extra 55 HP, but a 3 mode bilstien suspension, 4 wheel brembos vs front wheel only. And if you want to give up the adjustable suspension, you can o for the Superbee add the nav, paddles, and HIDs and it is 45.330 (this would be my choice in pitch black or white) before GG tax, not to mention the Superbee graphics, interior, etc. I do really like the SS though and am not saying it is opverpriced, it is not, like i have said in a day and age when you can price a loaded compact in the 30s and a loaded midsizer in the upper 30s, 44470 is not a bad price for a fully loaded performance sedan with over 400 HP and i would easily take it over any of the others including the 300 SRT, SHO (this makes a heck of used car value as 10 and 11 models can be found in the mid 20s with decent miles) , and Genesis R Spec.

And yeah, i know on the Impala SS too bad i figure the XTS TUrbo will be over 60k for starters :(. now there is always the CTS turbo, maybe they will eventually offer the turbo 6 with AWD in it?

Hahaha, it works. When I had my old Vic PI and even my white Caprice (yes, they were still using them here at the time lol), people would just hold their distance, miss that! I have to say though, the KSP has 1 or 2 new Caprices in this area and the pictures really do not do the body justice, it realy has a sleek and raked look in the flesh.

I would think there would be less parts in common than the same.

The one thing the SS has over the competition is it easily has the best looking interior. To bad the exterior is so boring.

The Charger wins the "excitement factor" on the exterior design.
