2011

F Series 584,917

Silverado 415,130, Sierra 149,170 Combined 564,300

2010

F Series 528,349

Silverado 370,135 Sierra 129,794 Combined 499,929

Going back to 09 GM combined sales topped Ford every year from 02-09 with the exception of 04

I wouldnt say almost never, GM ran the table for a good run, now recent sales figures show Ford is running the table on total sales.

Fact remains F series is number one selling vehicle, because The Sierra and Silverado are marketed as different trucks. If you want to call that a technicality go ahead. But GM can't say Silverado is #1 or Sierra, if they want to put out a commercial and say something like "GM trucks were the #1 selling vehicles", then they have a point and I don't think anyone would argue

I was told the last 30 years, so keep going.

Yeah I really don't get why they won't let the general public order a "hot rod truck" if they choose to do do UNLESS they planned on releasing there own version and feel it would step on there own toes. Now we all know Chevy won't but theres still hope for ford and dodge.....

Sierra and Silverado are technically* different trucks. Ford can say for last 30 years F series has been #1 selling vehicle. It is under 1 brand, they can say it because they are correct.

Chevy does not have the #1 selling truck, GMC does not have the #1 selling truck. Combine the two different brands and yes General Motors trucks have outsold Ford F Series in x amount of years. I am not arguing that.

That would be like me saying the Fusion outsells the Malibu but I have to include the Lincoln counterpart with Fusion sales. Or Charger outsells Taurus but I include the Chrysler 300 with Charger sales. Or Saying the Traverse outsells the Explorer, but I include the Buick and GMC version in the Traverse sales, get it.

I agree. My comment wasn't meant to only pick on GM.

Trucks are NOT about hp...they're all about TORQUE...to move heavy trucks, that carry/tow heavy loads...

A reminder: TORQUE is what PULLS/CARRIES the load, and most trucks are speed-limited to about 110 mph, regardless of hp.

Dodge just announced it for this model year and Ford is coming - GM SHOULD release the engine they shelved.

Yep, can't wait to see how this pans out!

Dodge also offers the closest thing to a sport truck right now with their Ram R/T and Express trucks. Fo course you can even get the Hemi in the most basic models with RC/shortbox. I would really love to see Ford do an EB 2WD RC/SB and GM the same with the 6.2 V8 with the Silverado and.or Sierra. yes, I am a huge sports truck fan as impractical and senseless as they may be
