Can you say SS silverado?!?!? It would be a rocket with a bed tied to it but knowing GM it will never happen. The sad part is they have all the parts there to make it happen yet they won't....

I see feel free to slap the ignorance right out of me lol. OK now let the HP wars commence in the truck segment again.

Ford will announce next week it has decided to Supercharge the Limited I imagine isn't that how it goes these days. Let one leap then the next and so on.

As it stands right now...

Silverado 1WT
Silverado 2WT - Sierra Base
Silverado LT - Sierra SLE
Silverado LTZ - Sierra SLT
Silverado High Country
Sierra Denali

Probably not 100% accurate but the trims don't match up as well as they used to. Sierra really is being positioned and marketed as the uplevel truck this time.

I don't understand GM. If they had one truck, it would beat the F150 in sales. Unfortunately, they split it up and now Ford is always perceived to be on top.

That would be true if everyone that would have bought a Sierra instead went for a Silverado. But past recent history says that retaining more than 60% of a brand within the company (Saturn owners switching to Buicks, for example) is doing very well. Typically the rates are under 50%.

Compounding the problem would be the fact that a high portion of the 'lost' GMC buyers (the ones that wouldn't switch to Chevy) would probably opt for an F-150. Fords market share of half tons, once you take GM out of the picture, is over 50%. So 1 out of 2 such 'lost' buyers would most likely go to Ford. That means that GM would have to keep nearly 85% of Sierra buyers within the company, and less than 10% could go to Ford. Those aren't very good odds.

Any idea when the overstock of current gen Subs will be released? ;-)

This is a major fail on their part for not doing so. I could get past the ugliness of the truck if they allowed us to order one that way we want them.

All manufacturers have their ordering quirks.

In a f150, you can't get a regular cab short box with the 6.2 or the eco. But in an extended cab, you can. LOL

The last three years, Ford has outsold Silverado and Sierra combined.

2012 Sales Figures according to goodcarbadcar.net

F Series 645,316

Silverado 418,312, Sierra 157,185 Combined 575,497.

2011

F Series 584,917

Silverado 415,130, Sierra 149,170 Combined 564,300

2010

F Series 528,349

Silverado 370,135 Sierra 129,794 Combined 499,929

Going back to 09 GM combined sales topped Ford every year from 02-09 with the exception of 04

I wouldnt say almost never, GM ran the table for a good run, now recent sales figures show Ford is running the table on total sales.

Fact remains F series is number one selling vehicle, because The Sierra and Silverado are marketed as different trucks. If you want to call that a technicality go ahead. But GM can't say Silverado is #1 or Sierra, if they want to put out a commercial and say something like "GM trucks were the #1 selling vehicles", then they have a point and I don't think anyone would argue

Does your figures include the fleet numbers for GM - I see they do for Ford (they do not differentiate) GM does if I recall.

GM never has said the Silverado or Sierra is the top selling truck.
