Curiously, we're EXACTLY 11 MONTHS TO THE DAY from seeing the next Stang at your Friendly Local Ford Dealer...

Coincidence?!

How do you figure that? Nobody knows for sure when the car will be revealed. Most just speculate that it'll be at NYIAS next year

Do you have a link for this info?

I've been following 2015 Mustang news like a hawk and I'm positive this hasn't been announced (no offense).

it had a kink but the one in that rendering looks different, besides i think 1965 came first and this is what that is surely based on

Besides that is just a guestimate of what it will look like anyways,
yes but look how much more flat the rendering is.. they are super wide like the Camaro versions of the flare. the Mustangs even those classics just have a very mild flare.. not the HUGE Camaro flare you can have a picnic lunch on..

Mostly because that rendering was made by a forum member, and not anyone even remotely close to Ford's design team

At first I like it but everytime I open this thread I like it less. The waist line looks high like a current camaro(not a copy but I know mustang owners hate how big the camaro looks and that plays a big visual role). The grill opening is to large compared to the smaller front end with snake like headlights(which look cool but not on that nose) and the lower valance looks to ricer-ish. Thankfully it's only a private drawing so who cares.

Don't mean to sound dumb or anything but I thought there wasn't gunna be any more Shelby gt500 anymore since C. Shelby past away? Or does that not matter because it is Ford?

It can still be a GT500 without the Shelby in front of it. It's rumored to have SVT Cobra on it though.

I guess it all depends on how much Ford wants to pay Shelby American to Keep the name on the car. The current contract ends with 2014 though.

Without Carol, it's not really a Shelby anymore anyways to me. Not that these later cars ever really were anyhow.

Love the look of that, but its still just another speculative render. No one outside Ford as any idea what the actual car will actually look like....though I wouldn't mind if it was close to that picture.

That's what happens when you stop following a model after you trade. I didn't know that they renewed the relationship. That's good to see. Although, like I said it really doesn't mean much to me without Carol.

That would be like making copies of Picassos and trying to sell them at huge prices these days just because they say Picasso.

The performance will mean much more than the name on the car.

Thanks for correcting my though.

Looks great, now offer it with a 6-speed automatic transmission and I would be sold

Hmm, Ford seems to be going for a poor mans Aston in so many of their cars these days haha.
The car above was derived from this:

.. from 1977. And guess what that car looks like?

While I understand that rendering is "derived" from early first-gen Mustangs, I still can't help but see a strong resemblance to the 5th-gen Camaro from the A-pillar back.

And from the A-pillar forward, all I see is a bastardized Aston-Martin.

If I were in the market for a new muscle car and had no brand loyalty, this would not be at the top of my list. And I have always generally liked Mustangs my whole life (except for the Fox bodies, but the 80's were hard on everyone).
