That would be what we call "zero tolerance". 1 over is in fact speeding. And add to that, in Michigan and many other states, if you injure a worker in a construction zone while going 1 mph over you will be going to jail, paying $10,000 in fines oh and I don't think you get to ever drive again.

Construction zones should have zero tolerance. Imagine if you were working in one then you might understand.

It's your freaking state. I just received warnings about this at work because I drive through your state monthly.. Apparently you guys have had an above average amount of traffic incidents within construction zones, especially with deaths of construction workers getting hit with cars. And it's not just cops pulling you over in this either. They are cameras that will take your picture and send your ticket in the mail.

First offense is like a 350 dollar fine, and second offense is a 1000 dollar fine and 90 day suspension of your license. The state of Illinois is not F'n around with this. Just do not speed in a construction zone.
