The Camaro is a top tier vehicle for GM.

I seriously doubt discontinuing it has anything to do with buyers not liking it (I too have yet to meet anyone that dislikes it) or consciously reserving it for GM "top-tier" vehicles. More than likely they would drop it to cut production cost, and say that it was an unpopular feature. Gotta watch those margins after all, as well as make room for the costs of other new features.

You could add it. It takes about a days worth of work to remove the dash and install it.

Thanks skuttduck,
Load of Toys coming to me from USA soon.
I think HUD will be a major cost?
Still, it's on 'The List' :-)

I have the same issue and LOVED the HUD on my 00 GTP

It isn't as bad as you think. I think Ofer may ship them worldwide. In the thread there were some from Europe that did the install, and I believe one from Kuwait. (GEN5DIY.COM)

Shipping isn't as bad as you think, since we have the priority mail shipping. Meaning that a flat rate up to 20 lbs ships for a certain amount.

On that note, I need to send 10 books to my friend in the U.K. using that box. I will let you know when I do it as for the cost of shipping.

I'm thinking you might be at $450 - $500 which is about £288 - £300

The labour involved to install it is another story, but isn't too terrible. It just takes a whole day to do.

Yes, I ship a lot over. It only costs more as I do it a coupled of bits at at time, ideally one big hit would be far more Economical :-)

To be back on thread.
A HUD upgrade cost of parts isn't much IMO (post link plz) considering our own time is Free it's a good way to keep the feature available. If it'll fit my model?

The best gift is having someone with you who has done the MOD (any) before :-)

I had HUD in my '99 Corvette and really rarely used it. Use it 100% of the time since I installed in the Camaro. The reasons I use it: The needle for the 2010 model is horrible, and for some reason having the speedo on the left & tach on right bugs me. I like them reversed.

But I can see many people not wanting to spend the money on it. Someone like my wife would rather have more cup holders and a better stereo.

I've never had a car with a HUD. I honestly don't see myself using it much, especially in city driving. If anything, I'd use it on the highway.

I had done some of the stuff involved before such as removing the A pillar trim, the center console. When I saw what really was involved it wasn't that bad, just very time consuming.
