You're assuming every search was consensual...

Not assuming anything about consenual searches! I am looking all over the web for someone that didn't not comply. TRUST me this is a BIG deal to me also! But I'm not pretending that I wouldn't have let them search anyways since it was such a hienous crime and an act of terrorism.
One of the big things that eveyone is over looking is that the POLICE knew he was in the local area. He was captured less than a mile from where the original shootout occured. They locked down all public transport and public movement to limit people on the street for a reason. That reason being the could control the environment. Someone drving, stop and search, report of a carjacking or auto theft??...They knew he was there just had to drill down the a block or area. AS for the homeowner seeing him before them, I haven't seen anything saying that house was previously searched

But there's no need for them to do it forcibly at gunpoint. And they could just have all the occupants come hang out outside the front door. No need to force them to come out with their hands on their heads and get frisked 3 separate times all the way down the street.

Police make the assumption every person they meet has the potential to harm them, regardless of whether a bombing has just occurred or not.

I'm just saying, when there is an entire SWAT squad outside your door, the officer knocking is the one with the position of force behind him, not the homeowner(s).

I have no problem with them approaching my door and explaining the situation and asking questions.

What I have a problem is with someone banging on my door with multiple rifles already pointed my direction, yelling orders at me with the threat of imprisonment if I don't comply. That's not America.

The video posted appears to indicate in the description that the homeowners were never given a chance to refuse the search.

And you don't have to keep explaining the situation to me. I got it.

The people that owned that boat are on record as saying their house was searched in the middle of the day, and then later they went outside when the shelter-in-place was lifted and noticed something was different, called police to tell them they had already been searched but something looked wrong, and that's when the suspect was cornered.
