Colt LE6920 is a very solid weapon through what I can collect. Same with the S&W.

The S&W should be cheaper however.

What.The.Heck? Laugh.My.Ass.Off

Prices are politically driven for now... sit back and wait or let loose with the cash.

Now a real question.... Talking with some people i know.. General consensus is that the .300 WSM is a lot of power. The guy I talked to said he disliked shooting it. Way to loud with muzzle brake, and too much kick without. He said it took the pleasure out. Now thinking to myself... When would I ever need a really long range gun? I plan to just target shoot with it.

So now this leads me to.. If I get a .308 Remington 700.. Should I still get an AICS stock on it and spend a lot of money customizing it?
Thanks

Also, I'd like to get one before any law is passed.

If you can find a Rem PSS or SPS, put a good scope on it and you'll be good to go
I think they were running ~$700, don't know what they're at now.

I just figured it was from lack of sleep, since you never do

If you do find something with a 'too good to be true' price, I'd run the serial # just to make sure. Brother in law found a $300 Colt AR15... yup... stolen.

Probably what i should do. But that AICS stock is VERY appealing to me. I was even thinking a used 700. Maybe not though.

Sometimes you can find a deal on a rifled action, or an older BDL for a good price. The new stock would need to be bedded if you want to take full advantage.

Since I've been reloading 308, I'm AMAZED how much difference the bullet/powder makes in accuracy/consistency.

Yeah I need to do research... the .300 with a muzzle brake is steal appealing to me for some crazy reason.... I don't know why. Am I anywhere realistic with a $3k max budget?

Yes, would probably reload either way i go.

I have heard the AICS system is a love it or hate it type deal. I would find a person willing to let you shoot their rifle with that stock and see how it feels.

If you plan on target shooting at less than 1000 yards for 99% of the time, a .308 is more than enough.

Just found a new, still in box Black Rain Ordnance fallout 15 for under $1800.
I'm fighting the urge not to hit the buy button right now.

Here's a picture of my newest toy. It's a 7 inch AR15 pistol. It's loud as heck and shoots a fireball with good ammo but its crazy fun to shoot.
