No, I don't think so. It hasn't been mentioned anywhere either. Just 19" wheels to reduce weight and the carbon brakes

The sad part is that, if I'm not mistaken, they could only really get it down to SS weight. At 3800 it's still a pretty heavy car

In all fairness they didn't do that much weight reduction, remove carpeting thinner back windshield, smaller wheels, ac optional.

You guys have to keep in mind....this Z/28 is much more than just a car that is "track oriented". The 1LE is basically this car, but does a DAMN good job at it.

This Z/28 is THE track car. This is the car you will NOT want as your daily driver. I fully expect it to be harsh, loud, and just downright truly mean. Yes, we all want the most badass car on the block, but 95% of us here would rather have a badass car with some creature comforts. Something we can cruise in with style, and power. This car has no damn radio for crying out loud (well..it has one speaker). This thing is meant for track use.

But I guarantee there will be plenty of Z28 buyers who do nothing more with it than cruise up and down the strip, and burn off the tires every now and then.

For me, I'd also rather have something like the ZL1. That said, I think this Z/28 is going to be one HELL of a machine. I love it, but I wouldn't own it (unless it was like my 2nd sports car, but I'm not that rich)

I have to disagree....think about all the weight ADDED with the extra coolers and beefier drivetrain that the ZL1 has that is included in this car.

The team went so far as to strip individual wires out of the wiring harness that were no longer needed for speakers. Without the coolers and whatnot, this car would likely be a good 200+ lbs lighter than the standard SS.

Lighter brakes, no stereo or speakers, no spare tire kit. That seems like a lot to me, what else could they have done?

Yeah I'm sure weight would go back up with AC.

The z28 is the track answer to the COPO camaro in my opinion. But I remember reading an article last year talking about this exact issue. We now have the V6, SS, SS 1LE, Z28, and ZL1. The ZL1 is the everyday super camaro and Z28 is the track super camaro, ok. What about the 1LE? Is it obsolete or am I misunderstanding it and the 1LE is simply a track package add on to the SS?

If you bought the OBD cable/computer interface with your tune, you can sell it and Trifecta will continue to support it. But the new owner will have to acquire his/her tune from them. Yours is specific to your VIN.

Good point forgot about the additional weight that comes from all that.

Even now, the 1LE isn't a different car, it's just a package added onto the SS to make it more track oriented. I think kmprenger is completely right. This isn't a car you can daily drive. If you do, it'll probably be a miserable daily driver. I feel like the z28 is kind of like a copo for the track as some one said. All creature comforts are gone and it's all about being a full on track car. Just like the COPO. If you want a car that can be a beast on the track, decent on the strip, and have creature comforts, the ZL1 is perfect for that

They left the rear-seat because they felt introducing this car as a 2 seater wasn't exactly a good idea considering the Vette already takes that spot. But they did remove the rear-pass through option which reduced the weight of the rear seat, but I'm guessing people who REALLY want to track this car often will likely just take it out all-together.

With two seats it'd just be a fat vette

I saw that, I totally was thinking the same thing. I'm sure an additional 100 pounds are easy to lose on this beast. I have to wonder how many will get this beast and have no clue what it is? That's when a person could find one for a better price maybe.
