Wahhhhh!!

Lmao DAMIT.
I don't usually post in here, just stop by to check out the thread, but I heard a rumor that HPS was out of business. Not sure if it's true or not, but wouldn't be surprised!

Yeah sometimes a mod you loved just doesn't make sense anymore. I change the looks of my car(s) a lot, I always want to improve them. Whats in the box!? lol

Other than that, I don't know because I have an auto and I haven't seen any problems with the auto yet.
Is it really the tuning though? I thought it was more of a fueling and internal engine parts thing. I do think we have a clutch already and yeah the auto seems to be holding up well. I still don't see the auto trannys lasting that much longer than the manuals long term.

The vmax one ,which I have, I love and is night and say from stock. Yes there will be up coming numbers to show gains in all these mods that so many wanna just call not needed or do nothing. I'm excited to see them as much as all of you.

Yeah there is only so much power you can make off of bolt ons...

Pretty much all the systems out there can make that power. So then it comes down to a simple matter. Reliability. If your car is a daily driver, I imagine this may be a big thing to look at. When I did my research, I really liked the IPF kit in this department but that's up to you to look at. If you're looking at just turbo kits, you have 2 options being an LLT. HPS and RX. HPS is crap so that's out. But then comes the fact that with the RX turbo's, you'll have to ship your car out since as far as I know, they don't have a kit. So that adds cost on top of the turbo kit. Then, to me, I like to at least see how things are going and if your car is halfway across the country, that's not possible. I'd like to also have a way to get in contact with the shop who did the kit and be able to just drive down there with any concerns I may have. And unless I'm completely wrong, not many shops will pay for you to ship your car to you to get something looked at. So sadly, unless you have a shop in your region who is willing to build you a turbo kit, you're kind of left with just supercharger kits. If you don't mind shipping your car out, then RX seems like a good choice to go. But I have yet to see another twin or single build other than can't_c_me's kit. That's the way I see it
Definitely, if you want to add forced induction you really need to understand entirely how it works or else when something breaks, which it will, you'll have to pay a mechanic to fix it...

This is really why you need two cars, its just a bad idea to make your daily try to also be a race car.

Has anybody bought any blackout kits or led strips off amazon? I'm starting to get into cosmetics and don't really want to buy bad quality stuff.. But I also don't want to spend a fortune.

On a completely different note, does the resonated x-pipe get quieter after breaking in? Or is it possible my car is running too rich and clogging my cats thus lowering the noise of the car? (Still untuned. Ordering trifecta this paycheck.)

It's actually more than one box

I think the tuning is a major part of it. The fueling on the LFX is better but it's also a constraint. Gretchen fabbed up a direct injection fueling solution that might solve the fueling problem. Might be great news for those that want to really push what the car can do.

I agree and don't. I think if you are going after getting every ounce of power out of your car and wanting every last tenth of a second, then yes, get another car to race and have one to daily.

Although I do think that if you keep it conservative, a few bolt ons or even forced induction but not pushed to the limit, you can have a great daily driver that you can race. The challenge is in the being able to restrain yourself

Yes, the resonated x-pipe will quiet. Like any other muffler, it will "season" after some miles have been put on it

Well here's what I did. Might save you a few bucks.

For my sidemarker tint, I went to a local tint shop and asked if they had any scraps that they were going to throw away. They gave me a few pieces of scraps and then I took off my sidemarkers and put it on and cut it out. Easy and free

For when I had vinyl on my bowties, I did the same. I went to a vinyl shop and told them I wanted to see if I could get some vinyl to cover my bowties. He gave me a few sets of scrap of gloss black vinyl which I took home and cut. Again, free

For led's, I would honestly just go with the cheapest you can find. I know a bunch of people will say oh the made in the usa stuff is a whole lot better and worth the price but I don't know if I believe it when it comes to LEDs. My LED fog light bulbs are from ebay. They cost me $5 and have been working perfectly for 2 years now. If they stop working, I can buy replacement sets and still be under the cost for what some are selling theirs. Do some give out more light? Maybe but to me it didn't matter because it's not like I can tell since the RS HID's are so bright

For tail lights, you can do tint and go look for scraps or use vht night shades. A buddy and I tinted his taillights with vht and it was easy and looked real good. The can is $15 at your local auto zone and is not hard to use at all. The hardest part might be removing the stock taillights since we didn't want to mask everything off and even that only took us 10 mins to do. You can just mask things off and spray right on the car if you choose. For $15 as opposed to $30 some of the taillight kits are is a no brainer to me. And you even have some left over if you want to do your sidemarkers as well.

I thought the only problems most of the manual guys are having is the stock clutch being too weak to hold the power?
