My Intro or How Did I Miss This?

I am certain. Only way I can irrationally explain that I completely missed it after signing up. That or I can blame the rum. Mmmm, rum.

I am not yet a Camaro owner although I have been trying. I may be giving Becky a call in the next week or so since the local dealers have been unwilling to sell a Camaro at a good price (the last place wanted about $1K over MSRP for a 1LS I wanted to buy

).

I fell in love with the 5th gen when it was first revealed and I have been impatiently waiting to buy one. I have even ignored comments from friends who tell me that it is a "guys" car and that I should get something a bit more me.

Ideal would be a 2013 1LS or 1LT in Blue Ray Metallic with white hockey puck strips. The 1LT would have the RS Package and sunroof. Either way I would eventually end up with both the HID & halos and the sunroof.

Plans for the eventual Camaro? I am hoping to learn a bit about some basic mods I can do to make her mine and have been reading as much as possible.

More about me? I am a geekette.

Random factoid: learned how to use a shim to escape handcuffs this weekend

(it was fun) and picked up some basics on lockpicking.

Valkyrja, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Sleez, shame you have to part with your car. She looks great but I only buy new vehicles and am looking forward to doing the mods on my own. Hope that you find a buyer soon.

Nuke, I almost always say yes to a nice, cold beverage. Even better if it mixes well with rum (which I can have since I will be celebrating my 29th birthday AGAIN this year so I certainly old enough).

Welcome to C5! Though some features like Halos can be added later, I'd get a major piece like a sunroof as a factory-installed item so you save some serious $ and get the factory warranty. Similarly, getting certain items added later can mpact warranty claims so think carefully when planning for the up-front and deferred items.

I think the Camaro is a gender-neutral vehicle that has appeal and can be customized for both guys and gals alike, so don't be detracted from your quest by any nay-sayers. Hope you find the car you're looking for soon!

Anyone can love Camaros..welcome to the site I'm new also!I love all the generations that Camaro has went through i really love the 98-02 body style Always wanted a 91 also..But yea its a passion anyone can have male or female alike!

Thanks everyone, it is good to be poking around in here although I am more than a little envious of those who already have their cars. I do not take the gender thing that seriously although the comment does annoy me.

Sunroof. I am hoping to get it included when I buy my car. As for having a custom sunroof installed, that would definitely be after the warranty expires on the car. I drive a lot so that would not take long at all (about 2 years for the basic and 4 years for the 100K) and there are a few things I would probably have done while waiting. Of course I do hope to be able to just order on with what I want.

Waiting on the 2014 to be revealed, along with many others here.
