Sounds like the Corvette didn't get beat all that bad, but would be a lot more useable as a driver. The Viper has 2 settings on the electronically controlled suspension, Racing soft and racing hard. I wander where they stand against each other, price wise too.

An improvement on SRT's previous effort, but hardly an "a**whooping" of the older ZR1 when the difference is 0.08 sec...out of 93.7 sec Vette's lap time...Chevy just need to concentrate on the C7 performance/track model instead of this 0.08% difference in lap time noise for now...(-:

An inch or a mile, a wins a win HA! Sorry, had to. I don't really see the C7 or Viper improving much on the times, they are damned quick as is (c6 ZR1 and Viper). Chances are it will be a year or 2 before we really see a Viper competing C7.

Pricing is similar, around 120k estimate. I really don't see anyone using either as a daily driver so the better ride, as much as motor trend harps on it, is like 99% a non issue.

That's my point...MT makes it sounded like a whooping where reality is .08 is easily variation in track days. I think MT is just trying to make SRT feels better from the previous "beating" where the OLD ZR1 beats the brand new Viper by a couple of seconds... I personally can't wait to see what Chevy can do with the latest magnetic rides on the C7 after seeing them turning the flying pigs (Camaro ZL1, 1LE...) into serious track weapons...

Then we will have another track oriented viper like the ACR, then a Vette track edition, then a more powerful Viper, then, I hope it never ends.

At that level any one upmanship is going to be small. if could use the same tires the ZR1 had then i can guarantee the spread would be even higher in favor of the Viper. the Corsas just aren't as good.

I'm looking forward to what the ZR1 will be for the C7.

By 1/10 of a second???

Woah. Splitting hairs!...imagine if they put all that work in, and didn't beat the ZR1.

Now that would have sucked for them.
