So what is everyone's thoughts on the new Polymer AR Lowers? I've been seeing a lot of them lately and most of them are reasonably priced for a stripped lower. I'm thinking once prices on everything else it might be fun to start a new AR platform project.

I've shot several and was even planning on using one in a build myself. There are numerous manufacturers of polymer lowers now so before you buy one do some research on that specific manufacturer. A good polymer lower will last just as long as a aluminum lower but a bad lower and you will never want to buy one again. My only negative is the price. It has gone through the roof over the past year. I use to see them for half the price as a billet aluminum lower and now they are more expansive.

Why the hate? The polymer used by a good manufacturer is a better grade polymer and goes through more rigorous testing then the polymers used by some of the top selling polymer handguns (like Glocks and XDs).

The adapter is subject to the NFA tax. But, it's only $75 whereas a decent suppressor runs in the $500+ range.

I'm assuming he's a registered FFL, so he probably has his paperwork in order
