Hard to say with just a split second of the video. I say let them do their internal investigation and what is done is done.

You can see the officer motion to the guy to get on the ground, I'm sure he yelled get on the ground too, as in you're under arrest. He clearly didn't so the cop attempted a take town, then the lady started pushing him. Bitches be wildin and often have pepper spray and other crazy stuff. Just because shes a female doesnt mean she couldnt have had a weapon or inflicted damage to the officer.

If you attack someone, it shouldnt matter if youre male or female, the other person should be able to reasonably defend themselves. He didn't stomp on her, just took her out.

As far as the cop was concerned he was dealing with a fairly large man who was resisting arrest which was a threat to his safety.

Not to mention the officer wasn't just dealing with two people, he was largely outnumbered.

He needed to deal with the situation as quickly and as decisively as possible. Mob mentality can take over very quickly if the instigators are not stopped in their tracks.

Good for him, he protected himself. I'm sure once the investigation is over, he'll be exonerated.

Good shot. Hey "lady" - don't mess with cops and you won't get punched in the face. In fact, those that are yelling about a guy punching a chick need to wake up...it is 2013 now. Equal opportunity...we are ALL equals now. Enjoy your new status, ma'am.

I wish cops did this more when it was warranted. Punishment right here right now. She was clearly in the wrong and deserved it. I'm surprised she isn't already suing for millions though.

Don't touch a cop and that won't happen. Simple rules. Follow them.

I can't see the video but from what I can tell in NY she would have been arrested for Obstruction of Governmental operations at the least.

Looks like the LEO is making an arrest of the dude and the female interfered with the arrest.
She's under arrest too but the video doesn't show that or what happened before he punched her.
The officer needs some backup.
