Cop Punches Woman Outside A Night Club Ouch!

A New Jersey police department has launched an investigation after a YouTube clip emerged apparently showing a cop punching a woman in the face outside a nightclub.

Elizabeth Police Department officials confirmed the internal probe after the clip received more than 10,000 views online.

The video shows several people scuffling on the street before a man moves away from the group, followed by the officer. When the cop attempts to grab the man, a woman intervenes and the cop promptly punches her to the ground. Neither the cop nor the woman involved have been identified but the incident reportedly took place outside Club Envy in Elizabeth.
Police declined to say whether the officer involved had been suspended or remained on active duty, according to the newspaper.

What's your honest reaction to this video? :faint2:

I'm in class so I haven't watched this but I can only imagine it's similar

Video isn't very clear as to what was going on... especially prior to the start.

What I see is that there was a physical altercation and that the policeman was in the middle of it as was the woman punched. When he went to take the man down that was also involved, she intervened and appeared to put her hand into his face ... can't tell what she did with it, but she put hands on the officer who was attempting to arrest the man.

Best I can see, she was in the wrong... as was the man being taken down. I cannot tell if the officer was in the wrong or not, but absent full info, I would side with the officer on this one. Neither the man taken down, nor the woman, should have been doing what they were doing.

This, your surrounded by people and your alone trying to arrest a guy who is resisting and ignoring you, people start grabbing you, for all you know they might of been grabbing for his gun....he got her to draw back, the rest of the people to and disengaged....she should be arrested for assaulting the cop in my opinion....you DONT grab a cop ever, especially when he is attempting to arrest someone....

A cop should not have to wait until hes actually stabbed or shot to react when people grab him in that situation, the people were clearly not only ignoring him but brazen enough to start fighting him physically.....what else did people expect him to do, just stand there while she pushed and pulled him?

She was interfering with an apprehension. She was either drunk or stupid. The officer reacted to her attack. He was trying to do his job and she got in the way. Perhaps next time she'll avoid getting in the middle of a fight.

She should learn never put your guard down. I guess this will get settled in court.

looks like she grabbed the officer first, I suspect he was focused on the person he told to get ont he ground, who appeared to have walked away from for officer to begin with.

my guess is that the officer didn't know who he hit, was reacting to someone grabbing him while he was attempting to subdue the other guy.

also it appears the guy the officer took to the ground took a swing at the officer while he was dealing with the lady.

all in all a bunch of drunk ass idiots against 1 officer, personally surprised no one was shot.

I know one thing he clocked her good too. Had me thinking he might of been a boxer once upon a time . You don't ever put ya hands on the law. This is gonna be a messy one to settle I bet.

Sorry...you don't push into the face of an officer when he's in the middle of apprehending someone else. Frankly, everyone probably should have backed off to let the cop do his job.

Looks like she got what she deserved. Let the officer do his job. People are just dumb!
