Say Hello To Lamborghini's $4 Million Alien Craft

Of all the world's supercar makers, none stretch the idea of an ultimate sports machine quite so far as Lamborghini. For its 50th anniversary, the Italian automaker has created its most bizarre car yet: Meet the Veneno, a $4 million alien craft that will be assembled for only three buyers who've already put down their deposits — and being sold out before it goes into production is only a hint of the Veneno's speed.

Thanks to internet leaks , we can say the car was built from the Aventador chassis, and uses a version of the 6.5-liter V-12 linked to a 7-speed automated manual transmission, good for a top speed of 220 mph. The three copies Lamborghini plans to build will have red, white, or green touches to match the Italian flag. We'll have more details and photos to share ahead of the Geneva Motor Show soon.


So which one of you put down a deposit for this car? i don't know how i feel about the design. What you think?

I'd rather use that $4million to buy each and every flavor of camaro and corvette ever produced. And I'm sure I'd still have money left over to build a nice big house and garage to store them all in!

$4.6-Million Lamborghini Veneno: The Raging Bull’s Swiss Surprise Has Been Leaked [2013 Geneva Auto Show]

Thanks to Britain’s Sunday Times and some quick-scanning enthusiasts at Pistonheads.com, Lamborghini’s big surprise for this week’s Geneva show, the Veneno, is out of the bag. If the scan at that link is to be believed—a larger, clearer rendition can be seen over at Jalopnik—each copy of the car will cost about $4.6 million. Just three will be built, and the Times story also says that all of them have already been sold. It’s the latest in a parade of recent show-stoppers from Sant’Agata Bolognese, including the Sesto Elemento and the one-off Jota.

More photos have come to light in the wake of the original Times/Pistonheads leak; the ones you see here are among a few that have been published on autoforum.cz. Looking like the fantastical love child of the Sesto Elemento, an Aventador, and a Countach 5000QV, the Veneno (the name means”poison” in Spanish) packs a 740-horse V-12, is based on the Aventador’s carbon-fiber bones, and features an aerodynamic package laser-focused on track use. Not that any of the three examples will ever be driven in furious anger, but we seriously dig the Le Mans prototype–style fin that extends from the roof anyway.

It's fast (220mph), but only 3 mph faster than the top speed of a Aventador. Plus there are others that are faster for cheaper. The price comes from the exclusivity of it with only 3 Veneno's being made, and each one in one of the colors of the Italian flag: (1) Green, (1) White, and (1) Red.
