Do you think because the LS3 has been out for a while and there are so many after market parts that the "dad" or "husband" that could not justify a Camaro can grab an SS and put cai, headers, exhaust and a tune on the family sedan? They could get that four door sedan to 60 in four and half.

I'd market it that way.

If I was GM that's exactly how I would market it.

Can't make a Camaro SS work with the kids? Well now you get four doors, a spacious back seat/trunk, and 415 HP. Now you just have to sell it to the wife.

Why no stick? The G8 was 100 times better looking than this, AND available with a manual. Sorry, no interest at all.

I guess I am trolling per se, but lets nip this in the bud.. I don't just come on particular car forums and troll about one car.. and if I do.. I'll only scream AUDI (the only reason I'm here cause I think I want a 1LE)

But I'm just your average car enthusiast who may be a fan of a particular car or two of a brand.. that said

Chrysler's ratings ever since the bankruptcy and Fiat as done nothing but go... UP, you have to sit in a loaded charger and drive it to appreciate how really good a car it is, but since most people here bleed Chevy and GM.. I'd be talking to the wind

but after testing driving the charger for a DD.. it was so hard to walk away from that car.. the only reason I didn't buy it was because I want as SUV.. that said... I stand by the fact that the SS won't steal any sales from dodge, though I admit that's a bit biased till I sit and test drive the new chevy.. but on paper..

If this car was available with a 6 speed manual, I would be 100% on board, and would certainly consider for the second family car.

But I am literally not interested because of that one factor. Bums me out.

A GM PR rep said she's already had 17 calls regarding the lack of a manual on the SS just this morning.

They're aware of the demand. I don't know whether or not it'll happen but it's a legitimate complaint.

With Jalopnik and other major sources bitching aswell as alot of us regular guys I can almost guarantee you GM will offer a manual for release. Corporate must have seen all of this shit storm complaining by now. If they have and choose to ignore it, it's bad business on their part IMO.

Wasn't the ZL1 initially going to not include an automatic transmission, until tons or people complained? Maybe I'm mistaken

If Chevy is smart, they will develop a manual trans for this "performance" machine

Edit - here is the thread - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128470

They don't need to develop a manual trans for this car....The Commodore SSV has a manual option.....same car, same production line....

My Camaro SS works with kids... well... at least my kid, and my wife digs it, too. Nothing like the rumble of the LS3 resonating like a V-8 symphony to put the little man to sleep. My wife doesn't dig the Chevy SS... says it looks too old manish.
