Your picture is too big. The limit is 120x120 pixels.
There are numerous free programs you can find online (if they aren't already on your computer) to crop & resize pictures. Also, you can try a website like picresize (or any number of other ones found via google) where you upload a picture & adjust it with their online app without having to download or install any software on your computer.

You can just use MicroSoft Paint to reduce it easily enough and crop it to the correct size (smaller than 120 by 120). Here is the DIY I just came up with for it:
1) Open the picture image file using MS Paint. 2) Select all 3) Right Click on the image and select "resize" 4) Under the "resize" screen, switch toggle over to "Pixels". 5) Depending on the orientation of the photo, change the larger of the two numbers (horizintal or vertical) to 120 ... your picture will now shrink to the correct size. 6) Then crop the area around the picture by going to bottom right corner of the "white background' surrounding the picture. Click the bottom right corner and drag it to match the corner of your image. You may want to crop it close once, then zoom in to crop it closer. 7) Do a "Save As" for your new avatar image and then load it as normal. Hope this helps. |
