I think the Vette will have exclusive use of the LT1 until the 6th Gen Camaro comes out. But I am just guessing.
Since GM has already announced the end of the Commodore as it is in this form after 2016 who knows what the faith of the SS is then.

Correct. This looks more like a stop gap model. The question is this just a limited run or will they continue with a new version in 2016 (also based on the new Camaro platform)? I guess sales success will dictate that. I expected a sharper looking car. Doesn't look much different than the Malibu.

Hoping to see it come over with an LT1 before the current Commodore is phased out.

The VF Commodore started development forever ago so they weren't able to use the LT1.

Commodore will survive past 2016. No word yet on what platform.

Besides four wheels/tires and four doors, not really.

No need for a G8 conversion. Go with its homeland and make it a Holden.

If it wasn't going to be so damn pricey I would definitely consider converting it back into a Commodore SS-V.

the holden looks much better. the front just looks like a 90s malibu with some LED running lights. the grille looks a bit misplaced (doesnt line up with lights, hood, etc) and the headlights were jacked from a chrysler 200/sebring or something. with all the manufacturers now going towards more aggressive, distinctive styling(fusion/charger/300/etc), youd think GM would up their game a bit here.

interior looks good though. too bad!

A big list of goodies, all standard. Only one option. The price tag will likely be mid 40's.

I agree they could have done better with the front end. And I would have preferred a manual as well. But overall, not bad. And based on the list of features, they appear to be listening to what customers are wanting.

With that said, I don't think I will be waiting until next winter to get a car that I can't drive until spring. This would make a great car for the wife!
