Where in the world did these Harlem shake vids come from?

Just happened to stumble upon Harlem shake videos. I'm normally the first to know of new YouTube sensations or whatever you want to call them. Anyone know how it all started? There are 30sec clips of ppl dancing crazy, lol.

Probably Reddit, or a site like it.

I know I've seen those showing up a lot for the last 4-5 days there.

This is a dance that was popular back in the early 2000's. I remember being in college and seeing all of the kids from N.Y and V.A doing this mess.

Example: This video is from 2001
All of the dance moves being done by the kids is considered the Harlem Shake. Its no particular move... its mostly just the motion.

Skrillex ruined dubstep? How?

By bringing it more to the front of the pack? People that didn't know it even existed and not only purchased Skrillex but found other music and purchased that as well?

Yeah they ruined it by selling more of it..

How bout some Infected Mushrooms?

I know the Harlem shake as we knew it came from NY. But this new era Harlem shake is crazy, lol. Some of these videos are funny though.
