States like Texas aren't likely to bend... at least not any time soon. But the more and more states that continue this action leads more and more people to believe that they are reasonable actions. And that's what the scary part is. If the situation happened that 49 of the states had magazine capacity laws, and Texas was the only one without, I would bet good money that more people in Texas would be willing to compromise, simply because it's common place in every other state. Yours is definitely not a blue state, but don't be disillusioned to the fact that it's not nearly as red as it was 20 years ago. And certainly don't underestimate the power of "peer pressure", not only from state to state, but from resident to resident.

Cali was perfectly ok with it's ridiculous laws about firearms. They tried to push new stuff through, but now they went for big air, a lot of it resulting from NY's policies. AWB proposed in several other states that have not proposed them. More support for mag capacity limits. More support for useless background checks. The trickle down will hit Texas. Not immediately, but it will happen.

2A supporters from every state should be fighting against gun control laws, even in states that are not their own. No foothold should be given. And this is important enough of an issue, that the state governments need to hear the protests from ALL gun owners collectively. As a resident of Cali, I wrote NY representatives to let them know my distaste. I plan on writing and emailing any representative of any state that tries to enact useless policy. I highly encourage everyone else to do the same.
Well, right. I believe everyone should make their opinions heard, but if their state ignores their apparent-minority Pro-2A voice, then Texas would be more than happy to make room for more law abiding citizens

By doing this, California will drive its crime stats through the roof a la Chicago-style which will only serve to continue driving its sane citizens to other states where common sense is still alive and prevailing.

I understand the fear of the "slippery-slope" mentality, where if one state does it, the rest will join in. But I just don't believe governor's of Republican-majority states will ever "give in" to an idea used in another state without citizen support.

I bought them instinctively. Had no intentions to sell them. Was showing one to a buddy and he made an offer. The other I will use for a short while then sell. Nothing illegal. Thanks for trying thought.

That also is not really possible today. More like buy what you can when you can find it for the right price, ask questions later. Atleast in Texas

And no, I'm not a rookie gunsmith buying and selling left and right. I'm working 12 hour days most of the year inspecting welds. When they look at my taxes they will know I'm not building guns to pay my bills.

Took a group photo when I came home from the range. LOVE the EOTech on the pistol. This was my first time to shoot it with the EOTech on, very pleased.

Yea. Pretty crazy. I read they did the same thing in 2008 when Obama was elected. The whole "we're not going to sell weapons anymore" and after the backlash, "we just couldn't keep up with the demand" couldn't have helped their business.

I absolutely believe in our free enterprise system, and have no problem with supply and demand. They have every right in the world to sell at these prices, but as a consumer I have the same right to deny them my business in times of great supply.

I've never really purchased from them, but can assure you It will never happen after this.

Prices will definitely come down...just have to wait it out. I don't think they're going to get this ban passed, and if they do a lot of jobs will be lost next year. There will be no question why, and those replacements will have to do something about it.

Truth. There are lots of businesses though that are not gouging and out of stock. I understand the buying panic, but I'm paying attention to who is and who is not price gouging. Once things reset (probably 6 months or so from now), I'll be remembering who deserves my business, and who was taking advantage of the situation.
