I really only take protein powder, and it's on the days I lift. I recently have been using MaxPro by Max Muscle. It's very efficient, low cal and low fat. But man, it makes me run to the john and evacuate my contents.

As much as I workout and train, I really don't take much. On lifting days, I take the above. On cardio and interval and sparring days, I drink a homemade natural smoothie: Spinach, plain greek yogurt, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries.

You would be surprised at how much a "natural supplement" like that smoothie can do for you!
I do 80 grams of protein every day, 5 grams of glutamine, Animal pak vitamins, 4 BCAA caplets, and pre workout on lifting days. Sometimes when I start cycling something like a cutter, nitrix, or creatine my stomach gets iffy. I find that if I eat yogurt, bananas, and high fiber cerial every day, I stay pretty well balanced.

I believe that Animal Pack and possibly the Nitrix, if it's a NO suppliment will contain L-Argenine, that ingredient is found in a lot of suppliments nd will cause the shit's with some but usually is not found in whey.

Nice. In the book I mentioned, they did say that yogurt is a great stimulant for the digestive enzymes lining the stomach/intestine. I have been trying to stay consistent with my smoothies and it does help. For some reason, I feel MORE hungry after I drink them...and they are high in calories, so it takes a lot of balance.

Here is the data sheet if you're interested.

http://www.maxmusclestoreonline.com/.../MaxProPDS.pdf

It is a mostly whey blend. I prefer the types that digestive. They also have a 5-protein mix with more of a slow digestion that I might try next.

Meh, I don't see anything in there that I would suspect is making you sh** your pants lol. Any drastic change with your diet? Maybe it's just the blend change and your system will get used to it in a week or so

Probably because you don't often admit to your 50lb 1RM. It's ok though. I lift the same... for squats.

I'm not seeing anything there as either. One thing that does catch my eye though is that normally when choosing a Whey Protein I try to find one where the first ingredient is a whey protein isolate. When ingredients have a "proprietory blend" it usually means a lesser quality ingredient or label decorations. The first ingredient is always the most, when buying a whey protein the isolates are the quicker digesting higher quality protein and should be first on the label unless you are looking for a slower digesting protein where a blend may be ok, usually a casien protein is best there.

Bad lower back

My squats have always been limited by my lower back. My dad has the same problem. Normally I have to cap my squats off after about 225 or so. It's not the form, it's the pressure from having the weight on my shoulders, even when I stand up straight. Not comfortable at all. I have to compensate by doing more of the other leg exercises. Lunges, leg press, hack squats... things like that.

My back is so messed up that it hurts to do decline situps after a few of them. I've gone through physical therapy, tried strengthening my lower back muscles... it's just hosed. I've got a pair of discs that don't sit "level" (is the best way I can explain it). They are tilted kind of like...

_ disc
_ disc
_ disc
> 2 disc
_ disc

When there is a lot of pressure that compresses my spine, they pinch nerves, which spasms the rest of my back, and if I push it, I'll feel it in my legs as well. I'm too young for my body to be this broken.

Injuries suck, I know first hand. I've had many brocken bones, a detached left foot due to a couple of serious motorcycle crashes on the track and street, and two hernia operations that resulted in permanent patches. Fortunately with a little bit of creativity you can find exercises that are somewhat forgiving but it does prevent heavy lifts with certain muscle groups. I've never been injured lifting but it does sometimes aggrevate them, you do what you think you can and then a little more. It comes slower but can be done.
