There were a lot of well thought out exchanges by the pro gun rights participants today. IMO, they shot the AWB proposal all to hell

Lindsey Graham is the kind of representative I'm glad we have on our side when it comes to common sense and gun rights.

He was able to articulate extremely well just how absurd it is to use magazine capacity regulations as an effort to prevent gun crime.

Sadly, though, no amount of reason and common sense will ever get through to many of the academics who want to argue in a purely theoretical world.

Actually the doctor in that video said that in his estimates 19 would be the median round number. In my opinion that is the best and most solid number I have heard from anyone so far.

He probably owns an XDm-9 and just wants to be able to buy more magazines for it.

But seriously, people arrive at a "number" purely out of theoretical assumptions. There will ALWAYS be a scenario that is outside of the theoretical parameters that the good "doctor" couldn't predict.

That's why it's so absurd to put restrictions on magazine capacities.

Lest we forget, there's already umpteen millions of high-capacity magazines already in circulation, so I guarantee you, restricting them now will have zero affect on whether they are available in the future.

They do! Just look for the name and put "judiciary hearing" after the name. You'll find them.

Couldn't agree more. I appreciate his manner as non-inflammatory, not condescending, polite presentation of logic to the panel. Well done.

And kudos to that lady in ATL who placed 5 of 6 rounds from a .38 special into the invader while under duress. I don't know how the dude was able to get in his car and drive away but thank God he didn't continue to attack while she attempted to reload that wheel gun.

Pistols are fine and all but I shouldn't have to land 5 shots and hope the assailant gives up. I keep 4 shells of 00 buck in my Remington 870 (empty chamber for safety). I should only have to land one shot at close range. Perhaps I'll join the ranks and start searching for an AR as backup as reloading the 870 takes some time.
